Great tour! Nice stop at a coffee shop mid way too! I came home and bought my own electric bike! Good entertainment for a wide age range.
Wellington city electric bike tour

Great way to see Wellington, this was our first experience on an electric bike and it certainly is the way to go, especially with all the hills in the city.
Fabulous day!

This was my favorite excursion in New Zealand! The bikes were all ready for us when we arrived, labeled with our names, and adjusted for our individual heights. The route was nicely varied and safe. The ebikes made it possible for the whole group to stay together and enjoy the experience. The cafe was delicious, and I was only sorry we didn't have time for a full meal. It was a great day!
Best tour ever!

We couldn’t have had a more perfect day for bike riding in Wellington (although I suspect there are many such days there!) Being women of a certain age (all of us were 60- 70 years old) we may have been a little nervous about our ability to navigate the streets of Wellington on a bike but we needn’t have worried. With Jimmy as our guide we were in quite capable hands. He “road tested:" each of us to see if we were stable on the bikes and could follow directions. Then he gave us instruction on using the bikes - super easy! The route they have mapped out is genius. We start out on a foot path - no vehicles, graduate slowly to a bike lane and then some easy street riding where there were few cars competing with us for the road. We stopped occasionally along the route to get some local history. Jimmy is clearly knowlegable of and very proud of his city which makes history and geography so much fun! Every stop was worthy of some breathtaking photography! Jimmy knows the streets of Wellington exceptionally well and I think we took in all the highlights of this beautiful city. The bikes are easy to operate and make it so easy to reach summits you never thought possible on your own. It was an amazing day - for me, definitely the highlight of my stay in NZ!

Ok, we were met on dock by Ryan - on time. We got to the shop on the wharf. They had prepared all the bikes for all the riders based on height. All were fully charged and ready to go. We were given individual instruction on the bikes operation. There appeared to be 4 bike types. When we were all ready we got test runs on the wharf and then a group run to a close point lead and followed by our guides. We rode out about 2-3 miles and returned. We rode on bike paths, then on bike lane roads, a packed gravel road and then on back streets before our return. There was a midway break/lunch/restroom stop. Along the way the history of the city and its founders was given by our guides. I admit I was pressed to keep up, but I was a first timer. Talk about Green, these guys have it down, electric car, electric bike, sorted garbage, the works. We did have one crash besides mine. I was not injured, but one person did have some scrapes and the guide had a full first aid kit and got immediate response and she did complete the ride with no problem. Good ride = a variety of terrains, bikes, and experienced guides and well thought out route.
Lot of fun...great activity...good value.

This excursion was one of our best during the 13-day cruise. The weather was beautiful and we had very little wind. We were able to cover a good distance and see many interesting and beautiful sites with very little physical exertion...loved the e-bikes! The guides, Jimmy and Shawn, were very good and a lot of fun. Thanks for a great time. I would highly recommend this activity for those who enjoy riding a bike.

Wow what a great experience. The guides at ebikes made sure we had a practice on the bike's and were confident on them before heading out on the guided tour of the city. We really enjoyed the the bike ride around Wellington. We are both in our early sixties and haven't been on a bike for about 30 years, but found the ebikes easy-to-use and able to ride up and down the hills without difficulty. What a great way to enjoy your fabulous city.
