Worst Company Ever

, Jul 2020
If I could give zero stars, I would. Came into DC with my family for the Fourth of July weekend. This company seemed to be one of the only ones giving tours. I paid $170 for four of us (3 adults and one child) to take the 3 hour evening tour. After purchasing my tickets I found out that they had to be PRINTED and that they do not accept the tickets from my mobile device. Obviously I had no way to do this, so I had to beg the hotel staff to print them. Then, after they asked on the site for my hotel for pickup, I saw on my ticket that they do not do pickup. No problem, we got an Uber. Get to Union Station and walk around for 20 minutes trying to figure out where they were. Finally call the number and speak to someone who says that they are not giving tours during COVID and that they had not had a chance to update their website?? It’s been 4 months, how have you not had time to do that?? I requested a refund (again, $170) and the guy (rudely) says that I will have to email and request one. I have requested a refund but have yet to receive it (it says this could take up to 7 days). So please, do not waste your time.

BEWARE of open air seating in winter

Should have let us know when buying tickets that some people would have to sit outside for the night tour. It would never occur to me that a night bus tour in 28 degree weather would be outside. Moreover, the bus driver did not offer any options for people to rotate or take turns so my group sat outside for 2hrs in the freezing temps.

Too cold in Feb

Don’t take this tour. They fail to tell you that the bus is open air which is really cold for nighttime tour in Feb. Our tour guide was also very rude.

Watch out for low branches!

Alisha and Dwayne were great. The description of buildings and monuments were great! We even took longer than planned on the walking monuments. My rating is low because on the way back to Union Station after The Lincoln Memorial, most of the people on the far left side got hit in the head by a large branch. I was looking back to the side and got hit on the side of my head. Lady in front and man behind me got hit on their forehead. This happened on a Tuesday and my head is still sore. I didn’t need medical attention but I have a lump and scrape are still there. It didn’t help that Alisha said we very sore that she should have warned us. ( you think!)

Great tour just wish it was longer. A bit more time at our stops would have helped also. Other than that will do it again when we are here.

Upbeat and interactive driver created a most enjoyable exploration of key DC monuments. The clear consensus was most positive .

a lot to be desired - not what was promised

I live in DC and had relatives in town. We tried to check in 20 mins before the scheduled 7:30 departure but the guy at the desk had NO idea how to use the technology. it took him over 25 mins to check in 9 people all of who had printed out tickets to be scanned. It was embarrassing. The bus people were coming over to say they were about to leave and they almost did without us. We did not depart until 7:50. We never went to the FDR memorial or to Arlington to the Iwo Jima - two of the best stops. The promised route was not delivered. the tour said 3 hours but lasted just 2 hrs and 10 mins. I had done monuments at night tour but did not remember the company used. One was a small private company and one was a big bus like this one. I would NEVER use this company again and would use a smaller bus company. My previous tours were SO much better. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Not what was in Description

I had booked this particular night tour because the ad said that we would get off at 3-4 stops and one of them would be Iwo Jima. We never even went by that monument and we only got off at 1 stop. It also said that the tour was 3.5 hours long; we pulled out of Union Station at 7:15 and pulled back in at 9:40.

Lots of bad things happened

So first of all I want to say that I don't blame any employees for this, I think this might have been like an out of control situation for them but here we go, starting positive: PROS: - Everyone was very nice while the delt with the many complaints. - The guide seems to know his stuff - They provide free headphones for you to listen to the tour guide in case he is upstairs and you are downstairs. - The Lincoln Memorial stop was pretty cool as well as seeing the other monuments being lit up. CONS: - Tour was supposed to start at 7:30pm we didn't leave till 8pm. Everyone was on the bus for 30mins just like "what's up?" - As soon as we did get going we had to almost immeaditly stop to let 8 more people board on. Lots of groans and moans there. - The BIGGEST problem was that the top part of the double decker bus had no A/C. So the people on the top part which I was a part of that very miserable sweaty crew. Lots of those people were complaining and when we got off on the Lincoln Memorial a lot of those people didn't come back. I mean it's hard you know imagine a 2 hour drive with no A/C in June it's like 80° and very hot and humid. People were pretty upset. - So I thought we were gonna make more stops but we ONLY stopped at the Lincoln Memorial and they give you like only 30mins. In the end would probs never do with this company again cause I really need A/C in my life. Secondly, we really thought that the bus was gonna make more stops than the one stop. I mean at this point we should have just taken a 10$ Uber to get to the Lincoln Memorial instead of wasting so much time waiting in line and on the bus.

While our tour guide was awesome - finding the correct desk in union station and the very loud and hot bus made it a challenge
