Waste of money
Cristine G
, Dec 2019
Let me start by saying, I love Christmas so I was looking forward to this tour. The pros, Clara, the guide, is very knowledgeable. The cons, Clara said she started this tour five years ago as a church outing. That is how this tour should have remained, a church outing. It was boring, disappointing and very little lights; a complete waste of money. Do yourself a favor, everything we saw, the zoo, the capitol and the white house, you could have done it yourself and had a good dinner with the money you saved.

It didn't happen

I was notified the tour was cancelled a few hours before my family and I were about to head out. As it was our last night in Washington, we couldn't reschedule...very disappointed.

Disappointing

Not at all what I expected. The pick up site was unclear. Stated 701 Penn but bus was over infront of Navy Memorial almost missed it. Stated that no pick up or drop off then at end Guide states all these places people were to be dropped off. Should have just taken monuments tour. The guide talked as if she knows it all, attends many "functions" in DC, volunteers everywhere etc. Had a headache by the time it was done. Have had such good luck with Viator. Will contine to use and guess I need to look into it more.

Christmas lights in DC
Diane O
, Dec 2019
Beware. What you book may not be the same tour you get. On this site I studied the details of trip. When we arrived the tour was not what was offered. Larger bus, different stops. Pick up spot was not clear as well. The tour guide and bus driver were excellent.

Tour Over-priced

The DC Lights Tour was significantly over-priced compared with other options. While the tour guide and driver were excellent, there were few Christmas lights that could be seen other than around the White House and Zoo.

Excellent. Narrator was so...

Excellent. Narrator was so knowledgeable, personable, very organized and professional. She wasn't reading a script and spoke from personal experience and knowledge - much more enjoyable this way. I have been to DC many times, even worked in DC during my younger days, but still learned so much more. The sights were exquisite, just as advertised. My only complaint was that the bus was a little too hot - we were buddle up as was and the ride got a little uncomfortable. But this is my personal opinion. Living in Michigan all my life, I am used to the cold. Maybe others found it very comfortable - everyone is different. This does not warrant reducing the rating - definitely a 5 star highly recommend.

Our tour was amazing. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable it was great. I learned so much and the sights were amazing. I also would suggest since its in the winter that you start earlier since it gets dark earlier. Also be prepared not only to walk but to walk up stairs well worth every step. The views were spectacular and our tour guide was exceptional. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Our driver was amazing as well ! The only hard part was we didn't really know where to park since the tour was going to last till later in the evening and when we called the number they weren't very helpful.

My daughter and grandchildren loved this tour. We got to see so many beautiful sights! Our tour guide, Clara, was fantastic and SOOO knowledgable and fun! The kids loved the glow necklaces, bracelets, stickers, etc. and seeing so many holiday lights! The only thing the 4 of us would change would be the length of the tour. They were not super excited about getting hot chocolate and gelato at 10:00....that is just us though...great holiday fun to be always remembered!
