What To Expect
Your tour starts with hotel pickup by your guide for the journey to Navua, an adventure hub in Fiji. When you arrive at Pacific Harbour, board a motorboat for a ride along the Navua River, passing by villages, rain forest, gorges, farmland, rapids, and waterfalls. As you go, watch for native birds like wild ducks and heron.
Reach the 'Magic Waterfall,' the tallest falls in Navua. Take a dip in the clear water underneath the cascade, and then hop on a bamboo raft for your third activity—a ride aboard this traditional form of travel used by past inhabitants of Fiji. Arrive at a village where a Fijian warrior guides you to the bure, the meeting house. Learn about local customs and traditions, and watch a welcome ceremony known as a yagona, during which you can try kava, a drink made from the root of a plant. Hear about the village's history, founded in the early 1800s, and then watch a war dance and feel free to join in the snake dance, if you wish.
Test your skills at painting on traditional fabric, and observe local women braiding mats before enjoying your lovo lunch, which consists of fish, meat, and vegetables such as wild yams, wrapped in banana leaves and baked underground. Fruit and salad accompany your meal. When you're done eating, your driver takes you back to your hotel for drop-off.

This was our first tour in Fiji and our first visit and would highly recommend this to everyone coming. Our tour guide Nem was simply amazing to all and especially to our children. Truly made us feel like part of his family and village. The waterfall swim was stunning, the boat ride was amazing, the time in the village and food was incredible and felt like coming home. If you have time for only one tour do this one hands down to feel a part of fiji!

Our family of 6 had a magical day! Our guide for the day was awesome! Transportation to and from our hotel was easily arranged and comfortable. The river trip was beautiful, and the waterfall was gorgeous! The village was educational and the food was delicious. Definitely would recommend!

Absolutely had a blast and was the best trip we did in Fiji. The river cruise was fantastic with some beautiful sights and the Magic Waterfall was crystal clear and so nice to swim in. The buffet lunch was delicious and we loved the ceremony in the local village.
A special shoutout to Nem who was the perfect host and has fantastic humour. A tour is only as good as your guide and it was worth the money alone meeting him. Thank you so much for the amazing experience.
It was a long day with 5+ hours travel to and from our hotel, but I would do it again!
Be introduced to a heartwarming local village after an adventure to a waterfall and bamboo rafting experience

we stayed at a resort on Denarau and were picked up bright and early for a long drive. with about 3 hours of travel time each way, the excellence of the trip was particularly highlighted as my boyfriend and I both agreed we would do it again in a heartbeat, despite the 6hour round trip.
once arriving at the village, we were greeted with smiles by guide Nem, and the members of the village who are his relatives. Nem's knowledge, wisdom and warmth was evident from the minute we were introduced until we parted at the end of the day, and his smile left a lasting impact on all members of the group.
open and willing to answer any questions, Nem offered a fresh and insightful perspective throughout the day.
The waterfall, boat ride and bamboo raft were all incredible and surreal, topped only by the enchanting Kava ceremony and hearty lunch shared with the local Fijians of the village.
This was the highlight of our trip, and we will recommend it to everyone we know!
An incredible cultural experience; highlight of our trip

We went on the Fiji Combo Day Tour (Navua River Canoe, Fijian Village Visit, and Magic Waterfall). We had such a wonderful time, honestly a highlight of our trip. The trip up the river in a motorised boat was an incredible way to see the beautiful scenery and landscape. Swimming at the waterfall was a dream, the water was so clear and lovely to swim in. Rafting was a great experience and we learned so much. Our favourite part was the Kava Welcome Ceremony and the incredible lunch provided by the women of the village - so delicious. We would recommend bringing thongs (flip flops), sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, bug spray, a spare change of clothes and definitely your bathers! Thank you so much to Patrick and Nem for an incredible day.

Excellent guide and transportation. Canoe trip was good fun. We got to the waterfall before the ship's(Jewel) tour arrived and were still there after they left. Guides climbed the cliff and jumped off. We also got to experience a bamboo raft on the return to the village where we had a cava ceremony, welcome dance(similar to a Haka) and excellent meal and a visit to various buildings and meeting house in the village. Much better than the quick, more expensive ship's tour. Highly recommend it.

Bula JBS,
We thank you for taking out your time to share your experience with us here. We are glad that you have enjoyed your day with us. Currently, we here in Fiji are on curfew and certain areas on 14 days lock-down due to the COVID19. Hopefully, a vaccine is found soon enough so everything could return to normal.
Stay safe!

Awesome! This tour is amazing. The long boats up the river are so much fun and the waterfall swimming hole is a beautiful place that is hard to put into words. Our guide (Molikai-not sure if spelled right)was the best. He did a terrific job. Definitely a must do tour when in Lautoka. Book through Viator and save half of cruise ship price.

Stairway to Heaven

This excursion was like no other for interest and incredulity. I would not have missed it for the world.
Having said that, there are several points that one should be made aware of. Unfortunately we were not! Firstly, arm yourself with an insect repellent. The flies, although not of the biting type are myriad.
Secondly, but for the generosity of a fellow tourist, I would have been forced to abandon the trip early in the piece. We, six tourists, due to the low level of the river water, were asked to walk across a stretch of stony shingle to enable the canoe to proceed unloaded, above a shallow area of the rapids. Due to the fact that I had not brought suitable footwear, I initially told our guide that it was impossible for me to walk on shingle in bare feet, due to historical foot injuries, in order to reboard the canoe some 80 metres upstream, A much younger fellow tourist went barefoot, kindly lending me his own flip flops to negotiate this hazard, thus enabling the adventure not to be abandoned, as I could not have been left alone in mid river. Correctly shod, I continued the arduous climb to the waterfall which was at an elevation of some 250 feet and some 270 metres up rickety concrete steps on the edge of a steep ravine, with only an occasional rather slack rope rail to prevent falling into the torrent below. Not a problem for a young person, but my partner, and I, being relatively fit octogenarians found it a challenge to keep pace with the rest of the party. Thirdly, due to the length of time we were subjected to bright sunlight, a good quality sunscreen is advisable, plus a hat and sunglasses. Due to spray encountered in the rapids, a spare set of dry clothing is necessary after the canoe part of the excursion. A special mention of merit goes towards our guide, who was most helpful in advising us of the points of interest. He later turned out to be the bamboo raft handler, and local chief who later took an active part in the village ceremonials wearing the requisite attire of his office, ie tribal costume!

Fantastic day and worth the drive from Denarau. Starts out with longboat trip through the rain forest, fairly short walk back to the waterfall (a bit slippery, wear good shoes), then a short ride on the bamboo raft and transfer back to the longboat. Once back on shore at the village, we had a marvelous meal and Kava ceremony with our lovely hosts. Highly recommend.

We had an awesome time. Our tour guide Ziggy kept us entertained and informed on the bus trip down to the village and on the canoe ride to the falls. The waterfall and swim were spectacular!
We were welcomed to the village by the representative Nem, who was also very entertaining and passionately told us all about the village history and customs. Our lunch prepared by the village family was delicious!
An absolute highlight of our stay in Fiji and highly recommended to all!
Well worth the drive

From the coral coast it was approx a 2 hour drive but the travel guides were very informative and charming and it went quickly.
The ride up the river was fun, and the swim in the waterfall exhilarating.
Once back at the village, the traditional meal we had was better than what I’ve had at the 5 star resort I’m staying at! We had welcome
Cava ceremony and watched various performances and displays of traditional village life.
So very glad we did this 😊
