Return Details

Returns to original departure point
At your centrally located Vienna hotel, board an air-conditioned minivan destined for the rolling hills of Salzburg. During the 3-hour drive, your guide points out particularly scenic spots and provides an overview of Salzburg — the birthplace of Mozart and Austria’s capital of classical music.

Salzburg’s Mirabell Palace and Gardens, and its grand cathedral make for a visual treat: admire the architectural highlights on a guided tour and see, too, the Mozart Residence, the birthplace of the legendary composer, and St. Peter’s Abbey (Stift Sankt Peter).

Then, enjoy free time in Salzburg and opt to visit the filming locations of ‘The Sound of Music’ by taking the funicular to Hohensalzburg Moutnain. After reconvening with your guide, you’ll proceed to the Salzkammergut lake region: absorb the natural splendor of St. Wolfgang Lake in St. Gilgen and then head to the village of Mondsee to discover the legends that surround Mondsee Lake.

Your tour concludes with drop-off in central Vienna, in front of the Hotel Astoria.

Good trip. You should have a serious talk with the driver. He texts while he drives and sometimes both his hands would be off the wheel

A beautiful scenic drive from Vienna to Salzburg. Everyone in my group really loved Salzburg. Real pity we were only there for the day. Would have loved to stay a bit longer. Would love to experience the town with a lot less tourist to share it with. Our guide had to describe the tour in 3 different languages which is quite amazing to me. Very talented and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this tour.

It was a long long day. Would be quicker to go by train. The lakes is literally a 10min photo stop. You see lake from motorway so not worth the extra time and detour. Our guide was ok but the tour was given in Russian ans English! Making it very lengthy and lots if standing. No time for proper lunch
