Simply fantastic!

We had a wonderful tour of Vancouver Chinatown with Robert. He is so knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. It is truly one of the best tours we had in vacation. A special mention for the visit at the Chinese garden and all the excellent food that we discovered with Robert. My husband and I are highly recommended this tour!

Walking and Learning and Eating and Drinking - Fantastic Tour!

This tour was so much fun, and I recommend it to visitors and locals alike! We (we two plus one other couple) discussed the historical and cultural influences of various countries on the foods of Asia, as well as the foods of the Asian diaspora. Fascinating! We started out at the Sun Yat Sen garden and talked about Chinese culture and concepts, and then we walked around and Robert talked about the architecture (historical and cultural influences), and took us to Chinese produce shops, meat shops, tea shops, herbal medicine shops, a bakery and more! The dim sun lunch was great, where he also spoke about meal etiquette and the origins of different dishes. He was always at the ready to answer questions about anything, and was so friendly and welcoming and just a pleasure to hang out with. The tour was easily the highlight of our visit to Vancouver.
Could not have been more pleased with this tour.

Unexpected lessons on how the Chinese culture relates to how and why food choices and customs have been established. A very well thought out and easily to follow trip through Chinese history and how food relates to everything. A dive into Chinese principles, medicine, customs and food. A great lunch and a few snacks along the way rounded out one of the best days in our entire 2 week trip.

Informational and delicious

Our tour was with Susan, the daughter of Chinese immigrants. She was very informative and willing to answer any and all questions. The tour began at the Chinese Garden. The food along the way was delicious and plentiful. We also enjoyed a tea tasting with instruction. If you like learning about culture and want to try different Chinese Dim Sum you would enjoy this tour.

Robert has a wealth of knowledge of Chinese culture and history. The symbolism and metaphors of the garden gave us a deeper understanding than we would have gained on our own. The markets and the herb shops were fascinating. The Dim Sum was delicious and the Tea Service was enlightening. Don't miss this one!
Very Interesting Tour

We had a great cultural tour of Chinatown that linked up the Chinese cultures and food. A very good tour for those wanting to learn about the Chinese culture and Chinatown history.

Robert has carefully curated and articulated a delicious interface between culture, food and history. A wonderful - and thoughtful - foray into Vancouver's flavour diversity.
Bob was great

Bob was a font of knowledge about the culture of the Asian people. I loved the hour spent in the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden. He provided us with good food and the visit to the grocery and description of the produce and the uses was amazing. The dim sum and visit to the tea shop were fabulous.
