Start your trip with pickup from select hotels at 9am. Please note that pickups may commence between 30 to 60 minutes before this time. Your tour operator will confirm the schedule at the time of reconfirmation. Head east into the lush countryside of Bali as you journey to the Karagasem Palace for your first stop. This 19th century site, also known as Puri Agung Karangasem, was built by the region’s first king Anak Agung Gede Ketlantik. His efforts showcase a unique blend of Chinese, Balinese and European architecture. Before departing the palace, your guide will explain the kingdom’s historical relations with the Dutch.
Continue next to Sukasada Park, a Karangasem Empire heritage building set in the center of a large fishpond. Make sure to note the building’s architecture, which reflects a blend of a number of cultures, with strong European influences. It was often used by Karangasem’s king for relaxation and to host meetings with key dignitaries and guests. Within the structure you’ll find a range of artifacts like photos of the royal family, plus furniture and variety of other objects.
Take in one last view of the picturesque building and its ponds, set against the backdrop of soaring Mt. Agung in the distance, before heading to Sebetan village, a township known for its cultivation of salak (snake fruit), a fruit known for its scaly, reddish-brown skin. Enjoy a walk down the rustic streets of the area, admiring fantastic views of the nearby mountains, palm trees and blue ocean in your field of view.
Make a stop for lunch at a local eatery serving a variety of Indonesian fare (at your own expense), then head to the water palace of Tirta Gangga. This unique palace, constructed by the Karangasem king Anak in 1948, consists of a series of intricate water statues of mythical creatures, most of which flow into bathing pools below. Snap a few photos among the unique setting of this palace’s idyllic gardens before heading back for drop-off at your Bali hotel.

After hotel pickup in the morning, drive eastward by comfortable coach toward the Karangasem region of Bali to visit Karangasem Palace (Puri Agung Karangasem). Built in the 19th century by Anak Agung Gede Ketlantik—the area's first king—the palace is a showcase for unique architecture, which combines Balinese, Chinese and European designs.

Head east to visit the beautiful gardens of Sukasada Park. Your guide will point out the old Karangasem Empire heritage building, set in the middle of a large fishpond. Designed in a European style that reflects various cultural designs, the building was used by the Karangasem king for relaxation and to host important guests. Inside, you’ll find a collection of Karangasem artifacts including photos of family kings, royal furniture and other objects.
Admire panoramic views of the lovely pond and Mt Agung on the north side before your guide transports you to the Sebetan village, well known for growing salak—commonly called snake fruit for its reddish-brown scaly skin. A stroll along the town road offers breathtaking vistas of mountains, palm trees and villages and in the distance, against a scenic backdrop of the blue ocean.
