Bali’s steep slopes and looming volcanoes can be a challenge for amateur cyclists, but this half-day downhill bike tour ensures the most spectacular views with minimal effort. Pedal your way down the Kintamani volcano, through the UNESCO-listed rice terraces and the handicraft villages of Ubud, then re-fuel with a delicious lunch or dinner.
  • Admire magnificent views from the top of the Kintamani volcano
  • See the UNESCO-listed rice terraces and the art villages of Ubud
  • Choice of morning or afternoon departure
  • Great-value tour includes hotel transfers, lunch or dinner, and bike rental
Your tour begins with a pick-up from your Bali hotel and a transfer to your starting point, high on the slopes of the Kintamani volcano. After being paired with a suitable bike, follow your guide on a thrilling downhill cycling tour.

Along the way, jump off to explore an organic plantation and take a walk through the UNESCO-listed rice terraces, one of Bali’s most photographed sights. Learn about the pioneering ‘subak’ system—the Balinese cooperative irrigation system—for which the terraces are known, as you admire the views over the rice paddies.

Pass through the handicrafts village of Ubud, where artisans use traditional methods to create wood carved souvenirs, silver jewelry, and colorful woven textiles.

Then, arrive in Ubud, where you head to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch or dinner (included). Conclude your tour back at your hotel.

Lunch at end was in a lovely restaurant although the nasi campur was not very impressive

Our guide was not interested at all in showing us bali and talking to us. He rushed ahead and did not stay with us. His main purpose was to get the tour over and done as quickly as possible with the min attention to his guests. Even started the tour with a qs...”do you want to see the crater, it will be an additional 45 mins before the start of cycling”
Riding though the rice fileds

An adventure well worth. Start of in Ubud and slowly make your way through beautiful country side and rice fields. Ride was 90% down hill with a few smaller hills to tackle. These were not an issue. Guide very knowledgable about the area and people and the home visit very informative. Finished with a very tasty lunch and a smile on all our faces. Some tours in Bali shouldn't be left out and this was one of them. 2nd time on this trip as l loved it just as much 12 months ago and wanted to share it with family and friends. They too loved it just as much. Don't change what your doing it works perfectly.

We had our 9 year old with us, and he loved it. Great downhill route with lots of scenic and genuine Bali villages, and nice overview of Balinese culture by our guide.

We had a wonderful day on this tour. The guides were brilliant, sharing their local knowledge and showing parts of Bali we would never have seen. Most impressed that the company sponsors a primary school in the area.
A brilliant afternoon out.

Ogus our guide was fabulous. Spoke excellent English and was constantly checking we were all there and safe. Mostly down hill, through lovely villages and we stopped at a house, School, Temple and Rice Tearraces along the way.

Friends in Bali, our travel guide, were personable, friendly and very attentive and talkative. As a couple we had our guide all to ourselves, which we selfishly enjoyed. He spoke openly about his family, his life, hopes and dreams in Bali, inviting us to discover a side of the island we might have missed. Ending with a pleasant view of the rice fields at a quiet restaurant. Highly recommended.
Fabulous Insight into Balinese Culture

Too often visitors come to Bali and do literally the tourist things. This bike tour is different- a bit of activity and a bit of insight . You ride downhill through the Balinese countryside and actually learn something about the place. The culture , traditions , architecture are all covered over 3-4 hours with stops at a Balinese house, temple, rice fields. On our trip, blessed with a beautiful day we also got an unscheduled stop at the Mt Batur viewpoint and for to see two of Bali’s active volcanoes , the crater rim and Lake Batur at its best. The guides are very safety conscious and the bikes are in good condition. You don’t have to be an adrenaline junkie to do this. You just have to be comfortable on a bike (it’s 90% downhill) and if have an interest in the local culture you’ll get the most out of it . Our guides were Mongoose and August, both fabulous
