Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This tour lets you experience Niagara Falls by both day and night, with hours of free time to explore.
This full-day tour of Niagara Falls begins in the afternoon, allowing you to experience the falls both during the day and illuminated at night. If you’re visiting during the summer, you’re in for a treat—fireworks light up the skies on Wednesdays and Fridays.

After pickup from your Toronto hotel, travel with your guide through the orchard-laden countryside of the Niagara peninsula and relax during a 25-mile (40-km) drive along the Niagara River from the base of Lake Ontario to Niagara Falls.

En route, hear about the area’s history and geography. Stop at highlight attractions, including the Whirlpool Spanish Aerocar, the Sir Adam Beck I Generating Station, the world’s smallest chapel, the Floral Clock, and a winery stop in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Settle in for dinner (own expense) at a restaurant of your choice, or upgrade to enjoy a buffet meal at the Sheraton Hotel that overlooks the falls. After sunset, a light show displays the falls in captivating colors.

Enjoy free time to explore Niagara Falls on your own or opt to visit the Journey Behind the Falls attraction where you descend via elevator to get a closer look underneath and behind the crashing waters (at your own expense).

Your tour ends with return transport to your Toronto hotel.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Journey Behind the Falls
Journey Behind the Falls is a year-round attraction that offers an unique view of the Falls from below and behind. Visitors descend 150 ft. by elevator, where a short tunnel (150 ft.) gives access to two outdoor observation decks and two portals located directly behind the Falls. At Journey Behind the Falls, you`ll experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world’s fresh water crashing down to the basin below. During summer daylight hours, over 2,800 cubic meters of water thunders over the brink every second, travelling 65 kilometers per hour! Your Journey Behind the Falls visit will take 30 to 45 minutes and in the spring and summer months, you`ll receive a free souvenir biodegradable rain poncho as protection from the mist of the Falls. Elevators descend 150 feet through bedrock to tunnels that lead and to the Cataract Portal and the Great Falls Portal which is one third of the way behind the massive sheet of water. Then you walk on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the very foot of the Falls. Posters of information are a great resource of information about the history and evolution of the hallways you walk through. Journey Behind the Falls is an iconic Niagara Falls experience, make sure you take a waterproof camera. (tickets available to purchase)

High above the racing Niagara River, you'll be transported through the air in an antique cable car. Niagara Falls day and evening trip.

The tour was good, but due to Covid-19 we were not able to do the Hornblower Cruise which was a main reason for booking. We did journey behind the falls which was okay but not what we wanted. We enjoyed the scenery and our driver and guide Fabio was excellent, very knowledgeable about the area. Wine tasting was nice. Disappointed that The Keg was closed in Niagara so we couldn’t celebrate my daughter’s birthday the way we had planned. Overall it’s a great way to see the falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake during the day. If you’re willing to stay till dark then you can see the falls at night lit up. Very not nice day trip, lots to see and do. Also due to Covid-19 there is no Fallsview buffet open so check online before choosing this option.

No fireworks, food not tasty and tourguide had heavy accent

A lot of information, but due to bad weather the fireworks was cancelled, but no mention of it. Our tourguide had no information. We waited outside for 30 mins but nothing was announced or said. Food at the Sheraton was not eatable and too crowded. Also our tourguide had an heavy accent, very difficult to understand. Overall 2 out of 5, I wouldn’t recommend this tour.

2D was an amazing driver. Winery was a very robotic experience and not what I am used to from California. Falls amazing. Boat ride fun. Dinner at Sheraton - no bueno. Stuck in back of restaurant away from everyone else. Only a couple of decent dishes. Drinks very expensive.

Driver was a nice man however not that kind of enthusiastic tour guide you expect. He has a strong accent so I didn't understand much from his limited introductions. I was disappointed that we didn't really get to see the Niagara fall on the Canadian side during the day technically except when we were on the boat from the bottom of the Fall. We didn't get to the fall and on the boat until 5:40 pm which was getting dark. When we got off the boat and were ready to see the fall from the top, it was already super dark around 7:15pm. There wasn't much to see except some light from the fall. We stopped at shopping center for no reasons and were taken to a winery tour which i don't mind as long as i get to see the main reason why we were there which is the Niagara Fall. But if i knew Day and Evening Tour is technically only an evening tour for 45 minutes of viewing at night, the I would gladly skip all other tour places and stops before I get to the Fall. Before I booked the trip, I called and asked about what time we would have dinner and was told it could happen any time between 5-7, but we didn't get to eat till almost 8:30 and all my kids were starving. To be fair, i did get a piece of the Fall. Was I satisfied? No. Could they have arranged the time and schedule better? Yes.

Thank you for choosing to tour Niagara Falls with us! We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the tour and not seeing more of the Canadian side. However, with our tour, we want our tour groups to see as much of the Niagara Falls Region, which is why a lot of attractions are added within this tour. As for the dinner, it is a bit difficult to state a specific timing for dinner because it does depend on the duration taken at each attraction on the tour. In the future, we would recommend bringing some light snacks and refreshments. We do recommend to please visit the Falls with us during the spring/summer to fully enjoy Niagara Falls. We appreciate your thoughts and will take your feedback into consideration. Thank you for taking your time to write us a review! We hope to see you in the future again!

Worth the money- Niagara Falls Day and Evening Tour With Boat Cruise and Optional Fallsview Dinner

Overall very happy that we did this tour. There were 9 of us in total and I truly believe that a tour of this size is how it should be done. If there were more than 12 of us I don't think the experience would have been the same. Our tour guide Tudi was very good, he had a good sense of humour and was laid back. We were not originally going to do a tour of the Niagara Falls and were going to hire a car for the day however after reading the reviews decided that the tour was our best option. Very glad we did it, the trips that you make on the way were fantastic. We stopped off at a vineyard, then a natural beauty spot and a tourist shop. Once at the falls we did the boat trip and then went w=further up the falls, Tudi escorted us to the behind the falls experience where we paid on top for, was definitely worth the visit. only negative comment I have is that on the website you advertise the falls with evening and a picture of fireworks, everyone who was on our trip thought we would see fireworks and be back for 12pm. This was not the case as the fireworks stop in the beginning of October, you should make it clear on your website when these are showing (months and days). overall he tour was definitely worthwhile and I would recommend to others.

Awesome Nature and very knowledgeable, helpful guide

We were picked up at allotted time and place more or less on time and set off in the minibus. Unfortunately the air conditioning wasn't working too well and it was a very hot day. This was fixed an hour or so later at our first stop. Fabio, the driver and guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, stopping at good "photo opportunities" wherever possible and looking after his passengers on scheduled stops. The short stop at the Reif Estate winery at Niagara on the Lake was really interesting and the short talk and tasting delivered by Ezra was very interesting and enjoyable. We bought some delicious "eiswein" (as a present unfortunately so didn't get to drink it!). The weather had deteriorated badly by the time we got to Niagara but the spectacle was not diminished and the force/beauty of nature was truly amazing. Photos can't do it justice. The supper at the Sheraton hotel (overlooking the illuminated falls) was also good with plenty of choice of well cooked food (some before your eyes) covering 3 courses. We were rather hoping for fireworks (as in the picture) but there were none. The return back to Toronto was speedy and efficient.

Great Excursion

The tour was extremely enjoyable. I was delighted to learn the fireworks display had been extended to mid-October. Although some reviewers complained they weren't permitted enough time at certain locations. I don't agree. The streets through the wineries are far too narrow to support busloads of tourists debarking and embarking for brief photo opportunities. Our driver stopped once, blocking in the car of an irate driver. If you want to linger, I’d advise renting a car or a bike. My only complaint is Viator's handling of passengers joining the tour in Niagara Falls. Specifically, those staying close enough to walk back to their hotel after the evening buffet. Our driver was unaware that the majority of them (6 out of 8 of them) had decided to return to their hotel(s) immediately after the evening buffet. After the meal my sister and I set out to tour the grounds surrounding the Falls, while they (the 6 out of 8) went off in search for the driver. At the designated time my sister and I convened at the appointed spot. To the driver, it was readily apparent several passengers were absent. Having dined with a couple that had decided to return to their hotel(s), I relayed their farewell message to the driver. In disbelief, the driver continued to wait at the location for approximately 10-minutes. Well, he was extremely displeased! Apparently, the missing tourists had never notified him they were not coming back. Nor had they left a tip. Delaying the return of others staying in Niagara Falls and Toronto as well! I suspect this is not the first time this has occurred. Viator should instruct passengers staying in Niagara Falls, to report their intent to walk back to their hotel, either directly to the driver or via the Viator application.
