Getting to understand Shinto , through 3 shrines

It was a nice tour. Beautiful scenery and history. Our tour guide Katsunori Fugiwara was very informative. He met us at the station and took us to 3 different Shinto shrines. I have to say that it was a very long walk, so be prepared. The tour guide gave us a great description of the shrines and their context in the history of the Japan, while showing us images of mentioned characters, places and events. He explained Shintoism and comparing it with other world beliefs which was easier for us to understand. He was very polite and patient to answer all our question, related to the tour or in general on Japanese culture. He was also very respectful which made us feel very comfortable. As we were on a private tour, he was very flexible with what we wanted to see and even stayed with us more than 3 hours. Even after finishing the tour he was kind enough to take from his own time to come with us to our next area we wanted to visit. Thanks a lot Katsunori Fugiwara!

This was one of the highlights of our visit to Japan - thanks to our great guide Asami. As we were going through the shrines, Asami was giving us a lot of in depth information for the Japanese culture, the relationship of this culture to the shrines, as well as how the Japanese culture relates to other cultures. As a bonus we were lucky to have by chance 3 Japanese marriages taking place in front of us in the 3 different shrines and we were given information about the marriage rituals in Japan. On top of that Asami gave us a lot of guidance on how to get around Tokyo with public transport giving detailed advice on how to buy tickets and use them and gave us extremely useful advice on how to get to different places in Tokyo and the best tours we can book in Tokyo to enjoy the best Tokyo has to offer. Extremely nice experience made great by an amazing guide - thank you Asami!
