Such a lovely welcome!

My son and I were warmly welcomed by a cheerful Masa and Junko on our arrival. The cooking studio is attractive, nicely laid out and cosy, We were taught clearly and patiently step by step throughout, plus on how to hold and use the knife properly and the skill of how to cut the delicate fish at different angles. There is also skill on how to handle and shape the rice, which makes you appreciate the care that goes into the preparation of food in Japan. We sat down later on to eat what we had prepared ourselves, followed by the opportunity to sit and talk amongst ourselves at the end. A rewarding experience with really nice people. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience, and was made even more special by working together with local people. We are so glad we booked this experience, it was perfect!

We were warmly greeted by Maasa and Junko as we arrived at the cooking school. The school is nicely laid out with a dining table in the front, teaching work space and an open kitchen area. We were walked through each step expertly and patiently (which is very relevant to me?) Knife skills, assembly skills and things to watch for were covered very thoroughly. The results were delicious. I walked away with a new appreciation of the history and love for sushi. Highly recommend this tour.
