Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This tour includes a cruise on Tokyo Bay, unlike similar tours.
See the best of Tokyo in one day as you visit some of the city’s top shrines and shopping areas before taking a short cruise on Tokyo Bay. It’s a great way to get a quick taste for the unique blend of modern and ancient sites available in this fascinating city during a short visit.

Start your excursion in central Tokyo to meet up with the group and begin your tour. Head by bus to the Meiji Shrine, a key Shinto religious site that was dedicated to the Imperial Family in 1926. Walk among the serene gardens that surround the shrine as you listen to more details about its importance from your guide.

Head back to your bus, driving past the Japanese House of Parliament as you continue on to the Imperial Palace East Garden. This idyllic outdoor space, home to a traditional Japanese garden, tea pavilion, stone walls, and a moat, is situated within the complex of an Edo-era castle.

Continue on food to Nakamise Shopping Street, a brightly-colored thoroughfare of food vendors and souvenir stores that leads to Asakusa Kannon Temple (Senso-ji), one of Japan’s most important Buddhist sites. Stay with your guide as you check out, architecture, and shrines that surround the site.

Leave Asakusa Kannon Temple, heading by bus for the neon-tinged streets of Tokyo’s Ginza district, a premier shopping destination of department stores and movie theaters. From there, proceed to a Western-style lunch.

When you complete your lunch, board a nearby boat for a cruise on the city’s Tokyo Bay. From the boat’s vantage point, you have excellent views of the Tokyo skyline, along with the nearby Rainbow Bridge.

End your tour at your original departure point

Please note: On Mondays, Fridays and other instances when the Imperial Palace East Garden isn't open, instead you explore the Imperial Palace Plaza.

How viator can spoil one's holiday and leave you out of pocket.
Davott

This particular tour was enjoyable because this tour wasn't cancelled without warning like the other tour we' d booked with Viator which left us grossly out of pocket and inconvenienced us terribly, and for which Viator refuse to reimburse or to even respond to emails (see their numerous bad reviews on trustpilot.com). I won't be using them again.

Getting to know Tokyo

This was a nice gentle tour around some of the sites of Tokyo..Led by the very friendly Kaori. She was a wealth of information and very helpful with our departing times and information about the places we visited. Starting at the Meiji shine then a walk around the imperial palace gardens. We had the pleasure of seeing the imperial horse carriages returning from Tokyo station. We then went to the Senso-ji temple with its souvenir packed Nakamise street. You can have some free time there or take a short walk to the temple with your guide and still have some free time. Then you go for a posh nosh lunch at a Tokyo bay hotel before taking a 50 minute boat ride around Tokyo bay. Then you visit the Odaiba area which is the new entertainment area and have some free time there. All these places can be reached by the metro which Kaori always informed us about but i think the tour is worth it if you have a short stay in Tokyo. Kaori was excellent and it was a nice day out

My daughter, my mother and myself had a fun time during the tour. We were 5min late due to getting lost in the JR, but they kindly waited for us . Kimiko-San was very informative and knowledgeable during the tour. We would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family.

Too rushed, too much time driving

I travelled by myself for this tour and found that there was little information provided on the places we visited, we only had between 10-20 mins of free time at each stop, and found it difficult to find my way home after being left by the tour. This tour may be better suited to groups who are not wholly reliant on the tour guide to make the tour more interesting and enjoyable.

Interesting sites but not that informative

Sites selected were interesting, but not much insightful information was provided. Our guide did not bring much enthusiasm to the tour. Nice lunch venue, with a strong panoramic view of Tokyo Bay and to the east. Cruise was nice but a little brief, and not much value going to Odaiba.

Disappointing Cruise
wilbyonclyde
, Oct 2019
Our guide spoke good English and gave us the right amount of information she was very good. The lunch was Western cuisine and was very good. All of the attractions were interesting and worth visiting. The only disappointing aspect was the cruise on Tokyo Bay - we didn’t go anywhere or see anything. The cruise only lasted 40 mins and most of that seemed to be taken up with departing and then berthing. The boat was very comfortable but was very slow and didn’t go very far. Anything we saw from the boat we had a much better view of from the bus as it drove over the bridge.
