Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Depart from Tokyo’s Toritsu-Daigaku Station Exit, where you’ll meet up with your trip interpreter, taking a short taxi ride to the tearoom which will host your excursion. Begin your outing by observing the elegant, artful techniques involved in the Japanese tea ceremony, enjoying a steaming bowl of matcha (powdered green tea) at the conclusion.

After admiring this most Japanese of rituals, put your new knowledge into action as you shop for tea and Japanese sweets. Traverse a nearby pedestrian path, famous for its springtime displays of cherry blossoms, as you visit a local tea shop.

Enjoy a carefully-selected mix of different green teas served by the shop owner. As you imbibe, you’ll learn about each tea’s unique characteristics, aromas and differing serving temperatures. Feel free to shop for tea-themed souvenirs like tea-making utensils a tea packs during your visit.

Make your final stop of the day at a nearby shop specializing in 'Wagashi' (Japanese sweets). Sample a variety of sweets spanning both the traditional and modern-day varieties before browsing the shop’s extensive array of candy confections. You’ll finish your trip by receiving an included gift of Japanese sweets before returning to your original starting point.
