Overview

Discover the history of the Adirondack Mountains at The Wild Center, a 54,000-square-foot (5,000-square-meter) natural history museum with exhibits, trails, and its very own river and pond. The center hosts more than 900 live animals that are indigenous to the Adirondacks, including fish, porcupines, ravens and otters. And it’s the only place in the world where you can see the award-winning documentary ‘A Matter of Degrees,’ narrated by Sigourney Weaver. General admission is valid for two consecutive days, and snowshoes are provided for exploring the 81-acre (33-hectare) campus during the winter months.
  • Entrance to the Wild Center, a hands-on natural history museum in the Adirondacks
  • Enjoy interactive nature-themed exhibits
  • Walk miles of nature trails
  • Take advantage of the free snowshoes for further exploration when there’s snow on the ground
  • Watch engaging nature films

My favorite was the tree top bird house, bird nest, and the metal bridges. I especially love the forest trail with the music! Beautiful scenery!

The Wild Center is a great place to explore the Adirondacks. We have been going here for years and there is always something new. The price has gone up quite a bit so we will probably make this a once every few years kind of trip. It was very busy on a Saturday so we missed some of the exhibits.

We had so much fun here lots of hands on things to do, really enjoyed the walk among the trees plus we were able to visit with family. This is must see for all ages. I was worried about the walk and climbing for myself but I had no problems what so ever, and would like to go back. Very amazing.
