6:40 AM
Board an air-conditioned coach at your central Tel Aviv hotel for your day trip to Old and New Jerusalem, located around 1.5 hours away.

En route, listen as your guide charts Jerusalem’s tangled past. Hear about its 3,000-year-old history, and how the city has been held sacred by the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths since the biblical era.

Visit the Mount of Olives for splendid views over the walled Old City, including the golden Dome of the Rock at the Temple of the Mount. Then, drive along the Kidron Valley past the Garden of Gethsemane, Dormition Abbey and other sites before entering the Old City through the Zion Gate.

Follow the twisting alleyways of the Armenian Quarter to the Jewish Quarter, and pass the Byzantine Cardo, the city’s main thoroughfare during Byzantine times. See the Western Wall (Wailing Wall), where thousands of Jewish worshippers gather, and enter the Christian quarter to trace some of the route taken by Jesus to his crucifixion along the Via Dolorosa.

View some of the Stations of Cross  (no. 5-14) on route to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built on the site of Calvary, the place of Jesus' crucifixion. Then, pass through the Jewish Marketplace and Jaffa Gate and drive to New Jerusalem to the Holocaust Museum, a striking building dedicated to the six million and more victims of the Holocaust of WWII.

Head inside to take in the artifacts and testimonies set out in the galleries, and end your explorations at the deeply poignant Hall of Names, where biographies of the victims are held.

Afterward, your tour finishes with a drop-off at your Tel Aviv hotel.

Please note: the Holocaust Museum is closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Jewish holidays. On these days, your visit here will be replaced by a visit to Mount Zion and the Gethsemane church.

Less flexibility to wonder around
Tamta_M
, May 2022
We almost had no time to wonder around, we were given small amount of time to discover sites. Also they don’t give you an option to shop or eat in a place you want. They could have just given you an hour for lunch instead of forcing us to eat in a place we did not like.
icon Response from Host , May 2022
Dear Tamta, We are sorry that you felt this way about the tour. But you joined up an organized tour which is just this. We cannot allow people to wonder off independently for shopping or for eating in this place. The issue is those who get lost or come late cause serious and wanton delay to shedule. The organsation is so that the group keep to together and do not get lost especially in the Old City. Restaurants cater for groups with rich and varied authentic menus. We try to cater for all types on our tours. We hope you were able to enjoy the sites nevertheless. Sincerely, Bein Harim team

Disappointing, guide was telling very little about the sights
Betti_B
, May 2022
The group was not too big(18people) but half spoke only french, so our guide told every sentence in English and in French. Abraham seams to be a nice person, but he was telling only very little about the sights and about the bible stories, so I was disappointed. The tour was more about driving us there, guiding us from one place to the other and telling a little bit here and there.
icon Response from Host , May 2022
Dear Betti we are regretful that this was the nature of your tour experience with us. Abraham will be asked to take this feedback seriously and offer substantial commentary as is required! It is not the standard of our tours as you see by the many rave reviews before and after yours!

This tour was fantastic and our guide, Itaman, was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. His enthusiasm was great. The tour provided a really comprehensive experience of the old city of Jerusalem and I loved visiting each quarter. The final stop at Yad Vashem was very moving.

Thanks Clara for sharing this complementary review of the tour guided by Itamar. He sure is worthy of your praise for his guidance, porfessional tour managment and interesting commentary. Hope to see you again.

Nice experience and excellent guide

It was a great experience, I’m a solo traveler and finding a tour where I feel safe and learn as much as possible it’s essential. The guide was helpful and always answering questions and happy to share her knowledge. Definitely you do need a tour guide to walk the old city and harim tours are comfortable and good quality for the price.

Jerusalem Tour Well Organised
Cld
, Mar 2020
I enjoyed the trip to Jerusalem and the whole trip was well organised and managed. My only criticism was the lack of time in Yad Vashem. One hour was not enough, or it would be doable if the visit was guided but I ran out of time half way which was a real shame.

Great for a quick tour... get ready for a long stay at Holocaust museum

Was great given I only had time for a short trip. Wonderful guide— knowledgeable and engaging. Felt a little rushed in Jerusalem and spent way, way too long at the Holocaust museum.

Super tour

The tour was pretty good and very complete, the guide was amazing and you totally noticed that she knows what she’s talking about. The only down for me was just when you have to go to a souvenir store to buy things, of course no one is obligated to buy, but it’s a bit annoying. Guess it’s “normal” in this touristic tours...

Okay

While the sites on the tour were beautiful, the tour guide was less personable than many others I’ve had via Viator. In addition, some of the people on our tour decided to be baptized at the river Jordan but were not appropriately informed by the tour guide that there was no preacher/priest to baptize them unless one travels with you. Thankfully a preacher who was with another group agreed to baptize them and all turned out fine. Lastly, when it came time for drop off, instead of being dropped off at my hotel (like on other tours I’ve been on), I was dropped off several streets away to walk home by myself in the dark. If I had been traveling with a companion, this wouldn’t have bothered me but I thought it was slightly inconsiderate of my safety as a solo traveler. Overall, the tour was okay but I would highly recommend the Jerusalem tour instead.

Koby was a knowledgeable and accommodating guide. The shop he took us to was of low quality and I felt as though I was obligated to buy something. I did not. I would have preferred not feeling like it was required to go the the restaurant that was chosen. An option to skip lunch would have been appreciated

A very interesting day!

An interesting trip to old noisy Jerusalem, particularly interesting to visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Western wall. Interesting and very moving to visit the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, Yad Vashem, in new Jerusalem. A very nice and knowledeable guide.

A good first experience
Johannes_C
, Dec 2019
Our guide was very knowledgeable with 35 years of experience. He added insight at each tour stop to make the material more relatable. I wish the timeline had included more time for exploring and shopping not just at a pre-selected single store with high-pressure sales tactics. Elvis-themed coffee stop at the beginning was an unnecessary waste of time.

The most fascinating city!
Ophelia1616

I loved this trip, I’ve always wanted to see Jerusalem and it was amazing to do so. The morning was walking all around old Jerusalem including seeing the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. I was disappointed about how short a time we had in the church - only 20 minutes. There are huge queues for the rock of Golgotha and Jesus’ tomb. The tour didn’t give us enough time to see everything or to queue for one of those and it would have been good to have some time to walk round Jerusalem on your own. The tour guide, Itamar, was full of interesting information but unfortunately I didn’t hear most of it. He repeatedly started talking before half of the tour group had caught up. He seemed to have little patience with those with restricted mobility issues who walked a bit slower - and it is quite difficult to walk round Jerusalem as there are lots of little steps up and down and uneven ground. Several times we were left well behind the group and missed all of the talk. In addition, he sometimes asked me to wait partway along the route for the last people while he gave information to the quicker members which meant I missed it all as well. He was very quiet when speaking so even if you were there when he talked, you had to get quite close to hear and with a group of about 50, that was almost impossible. However, even without the tour information, everything we saw was fascinating. You got time to spend on your own at the Wailing Wall which was lovely and an amazing experience. I was upset that the choice of lunch location was so inconsiderate - up about 60 steps to a rooftop bar which was just not feasible for those of us with walking difficulties. We ended up going somewhere else on our own. The afternoon session of this tour was entirely in Yad Vashem, the world holocaust museum. You are given quite a lot of time to look round this although you could spend days there without seeing and reading everything. It is a fascinating but hard experience and the guide was considerate in making sure people understood upfront that if they found it too much nobody would judge them and they could wait in the coffee shop or book shop if they preferred. We spent the whole time looking round the museum and it was a chilling experience but I’m so glad I did it. I was expecting more from the ‘new Jerusalem’ section of the tour than just the museum so that was a bit of a shame but the museum itself is a great experience. Overall an amazing tour and I’m so glad I did it.

Interesting yet chaotic!
Harold R
, Oct 2019
Although the tour has a lot to offer, getting through the crowds and the ‘very’ narrow streets of the old city, especially the via Delarosa, etc., it creates delays and extremely difficult to stay with group. Those of us who are less pushy, and coming up with other tour groups who are more aggressive, it does not make the historical and interesting concepts too easy to enjoy! Try it and good luck!!

DO NOT USE BEIN HARIM through Viator
Navigate10370353889
, Aug 2019
Bein Harim through Viator states that tours are in English but they will put you on a bi-lingual tour to save money in a tiny, squashed van. The tour then takes twice as long and you lose interest and can't understand anything as the guide switches back and forth between languages. The guide actually apologized to us at the end of the day and thanked us for our patience. DO NOT USE BEIN HARIM. Make sure it's another Israeli guide company.
