Your tour begins in either Taormina or elsewhere in Messina province, where you’ll be picked up by your guide in an air-conditioned coach for this half-day Godfather tour.

When Francis Ford Coppola began work on filming his classic, The Godfather, he realized he couldn’t use the actual town in which the books are set—Corleone, Sicily. By the early 1970s, Corleone was too modern-looking to serve as the historic place of the novels. Instead, producers decided to use the towns of Savoca and Forzà d'Agrò near Taormina.

Savoca is your first stop. Visit the pretty Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Convent of the Frati Minori Cappuccini, where you can even explore the underground crypt. Godfather aficionados will instantly recognize Bar Vitelli, where Michael Corleone told Apollonia’s father of his intention to marry his daughter.

Enjoy free time to explore Savoca at your leisure, perhaps even to have a snack or drink (own expense) at the Bar Vitelli, before boarding the coach again to go to Forzà d'Agrò.

Many scenes of village life were filmed in Forzà d'Agrò, with its cobblestone streets and traditional houses. You may also recognize the church that features in both The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II. Here, too, you have some time to explore the town on your own before getting back on the coach for the trip back to your starting point in Taormina or Messina province.

Good fun, courier was pleasant and site of film was great. don't know about second location of a church up a mountain for a scene of godfather 2 or 3 ! Bit of a waste of time as there was nothing much else there so hanging around for those who wanted to see inside of church!

Very good tour guide who gave an excellent review of the movie while touring. She had examples of the movie on her phone that would enable us to relate the current locations to the movie. As you might imagine, the locations have changed a bit since 1970. We were allowed free time to explore and sit down in the bar where some of the movie was filmed. I would highly recommend this fun and interesting tour.

This tour was absolutely incredible in so many ways! Our tour guide was super friendly and so knowledgeable about the Godfather films and history. She also told us great stories on the orgins of the Sicilian Mafia and history of Sicily. We actually got to meet one of the actors from the original film that lives in the town of Savoca. If you like the Godfather then definitely book this tour!

For hardcore fans like me of the "Godfather" trilogy, this tour is a must-do. To correct some misleading reviews, our tour guide spoke pretty good English, although with an accent, and the cites we visited were open despite it's being Sunday. The tour guide was not as knowledgeable concerning the films as she should have been. (She misidentified a scene from Part II as if it were from Part I, evidently not realizing that Part II is a prequel as well as a sequel to Part I.) But so what. The traffic jam heading back to Taormina was frustrating, but again, so what. The tour is a must for Godfather-philes..

Nice tour! A 50 passenger bus picked up us from the bus terminal. We visited two towns where the Godfather was filmed. We chose this particular tour over the other Godfather tours because it was a shorter duration and offered in an afternoon. If anything, you get to see 2 beautiful Italian towns,

This is a wonderful tour of the two towns that scenes of The Godfather were shot in. Our guide Christy was knowledgeable and had may facts that made the trip even more interesting. Bar Vitelli, in Savoca, was charming. Be sure to try their special Lemon Granita with an extra shot of liquore . There was enough time to wander around both towns. A short trip from Taormina.

This was a very good tour and generally an excellent value for the cost. There are multiple companies offering Godfather Tour options. This tour was one of the more economically-priced ones, but I don't feel that it was inferior in any way to the more expensive options from other companies. The guide was very knowledgeable about Sicilian history and provided not only extensive details about the filming of The Godfather films in Sicily, but also Sicilian history in general. She also provided some history about Savoca and Forza d'Agro, which I appreciated. We spent much more time in Savoca than Forza d'Agro, so our time in the latter was exceptionally brief. Time goes by very quickly, however, and you do go through both towns at a brisk pace, with lots of walking.

It was a very organised and easy tour. They picked us up from the hotel which was great and we visited 2 villages. First village Savoca was great as we had enough time to get a drink, walk around and take photos but the second village Forza d'Agro we were rushed a little bit. We only had 30 minutes I guess and were shown a church which was in the film but there was another church that was in two films of Godfather and actually is more important and we saw that completely by chance and it was very last minute. I dont think anyone else had the chance to see that which was a shame. The guide was very nice and polite, the driver was very good. I would recommend it to my friends and family.

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. What the lady guide knows, not only about The Godfather tour, but about the area we travelled through, is very knowledge able. She really takes you into the atmosphere of old Sicily. The people of these villages are also very welcoming, and friendly. You see more than you should, and take in the history of these areas. If you can only do 1 tour, I suggest this one.

This tour was 2 hours out of our way but as huge Godfather fans, we had to go - it was one of the reasons we chose to go to Sicily on our first trip to Italy. It was well worth the taxi ride and day-long plans, as we got to see beautiful Taormina. Very exciting to see where the few Sicily scenes were shot and visit inside the bar and church where Michael and Apolonia met/wed. Our tour guide, Alita, was knowledgeable about the Godfather scenes but not about filmmaking. As a filmmaker, I was disappointed. She does a great disservice to Marlon Brando by sharing that he was too lazy to come to Sicily. Wrong. Brando's character was not in the Sicily scenes the scenes were all about his son, Michael, hiding out. There was no reason for Brando to be in Sicily and Hollywood doesn't send every cast member to location shoots -- there are budgets. It's little insights into the filmmaking process that would make this a better tour. Alita also told the bus that the town doesn't celebrate/glorify its connection to the movie so souvenirs of the film would not be available. You could hear the disappointment on the bus. Again - wrong. As soon as we got off the bus, there were Godfather Tshirts, postcards, bobbleheads, photo ops, etc.
