Meet up with your host and professional chef near Porta Messina in the historical center of Taormina and begin your day of indulging in the cuisine of Sicily. Walk around the outdoor food market, taking in the various fruits and vegetable and listening to the food sellers yell out their goods for potential buyers. Aide the chef in picking out ingredients for your meal and discuss what makes the perfect seasonal ingredient for the meal.

Then walk to nearby restaurant to begin the next phase of the day: cooking. Strap on an apron and get ready to create a delicious meal. Learn about the unique landscape and soil of Sicily that breeds excellent vegetables; that the volcanic soil is the ideal fertile dirt in which to grow veggies. And learn how the waters around Sicily produces some of the most delicious seafood in the Mediterranean.

Chop vegetables. Make pasta. And sear meat and fish. While the menu changes regularly based on what's in season, expect dishes like Parmigiana di melanzane (baked eggplant, layered with tomato and Parmesan) or pasta al pesto di pistacchi – pasta with a pesto sauce made from pistachio nuts.

When the cooking is complete, pull up a seat to a table in the restaurant to devour your delicious meal. Wash it down with some locally made wine. The cooking and eating experience finishes after you've eaten and sampled some local wine. Before heading out of the restaurant, receive a certificate that you completed the course.

This was hands down so much fun! Not your run of the mill class, Giovanni and his crew were attentive, informative, and went above and beyond to make the class fun. We met great people from across the globe and had plenty of laughs over food and wine. Truly a memorable experience and I highly recommend taking the class - you won't regret it!
Really worth doing, won’t regret it!

The cooking class was amazing. From our interesting trip to the market, to the very tasty 3 courses we cooked. I couldn’t recommend it more! We enjoyed lovely conversations with the chef and cooked in a beautiful surrounding area, with great wine to match.

Highlight of our two week trip to Sicily!

Me and my partner absolutely loved this cooking class. We we're lucky enough to be the only ones doing the course this day, which I think worked in our favour. The host was so friendly and accommodating, we had a laugh and really enjoyed his hospitality. His love for Italian cooking was clear, and the food he taught us to make/assemble was delicious! We're looking forward to reproducing the same for our families and friends once we get back to England ☺️ Thanks again!

Of my three-week stint in Italy, this experience was by far one of the most memorable and heart-warming. We learnt so much while at the market and later, by making our meal itself. Chef Domenico is charismatic and you can tell that he truly cares about food, and also the people he connects with through the class. I definitely made friends and lived my BEST life that day. I can't wait to go back and bring my boyfriend along. BOOK THIS CLASS NOW!!!

It was a good experience with a personable chef/teacher. The dishes we made were tasty, the wine was a good addition. From others we met in our travels, that attended other cooking experiences, it seems we did the minimum and other classes offered more dishes and a wider variety. I thought that during the session, that we would do more dishes, but it was confirmed.

Hello Peter K, thanks for sharing. During our Sicilian Cooking Class we include the preparation of a complete meal with caponata as entrée, handmade pasta with tomato sauce and a fish main course . The handmade pasta takes quite a long time for preparation, so we cannot include other dishes. If you wish, next time, you can send a special request and we will statisfy it for sure. Looking forward to welcoming you back! Guest Relations Manager SAT Group
Excellent way to spend a few hours

A really interesting half-day starting with a trip to the local market. Domenico was really generous with his time and we learned a lot. The cooking session was also really interesting as we learned to make Sicily style pasta, caponata and baked sea bass. The restaurant was great nd is certainly go back there to eat

Excellent, totally recommended.

Every aspect of this class was excellent. The instructor, Dom, was charismatic and knowledgeable, and began the day with a nice visit to the little Taormina fish and vegetable market, offering plenty of tips and responses to questions. Back at his family restaurant, the class was held in a very pleasant semi open-air setting, and he coped very well with a fairly large group of 17. We had hands on involvement in all three course - handmade pasta; an entree of caponata; and an interesting fresh fish dish. The class was varied in age and nationalities and the atmosphere was extremely congenial, with a nice lunch and wine to conclude. Would very highly recommend.
