Great value for money with food and wine included on the tour. Everything tasted so good and it is a great way to try typical Sicilian foods. Tour guide was really friendly and there was not much walking in between stops. Would have appreciated a little bit more information about the city as we walked around and to walk via a few more of the sights, but it was a good introductory tour to Ortigia.

Great mix of food, wine and history. Antonio was a fabulous guide and host. We made three stops. First white wines with 5 different fish dishes. Second red wine with different bruschettas and eggplant Parmigiano. Third stop dessert with a nice dessert wine. Great time.

We enjoyed going on this tour. Rosario (Saro) was a terrific guide showing us landmarks of Syracusa and explaining the culture of each. We were treated to fabulous food and wine along the way at some beautiful restaurants. You don't do much walking as the restaurants and landmarks are nearby. It took about 31/2 to 4 hours . A beautiful and memorable way to spend an evening. Highly recommend!

This was a great introduction to Syracuse on our first night there. Our guide, Elisa, was very friendly and made sure we were well catered for the whole evening. The second bar we went to became a regular spot for us over the week! As well as showing us around the city, Elisa was able to recommend places for us to see and eat during our stay. Very helpful indeed.

Our guide for this tour was pleasant, and tried to be informative, but, by his own admission, he was filling in at the last minute for the scheduled guide. The fish platter and white wine tasting site was excellent, but so noisy we had difficulty hearing the guide. The meat tasting with red wine site was quieter, but the manager was unpleasant he would not even set a place for the guide. The site for dessert served the most mediocre cannola we have had on our trip. Plus, the guide smoked on this food tour. LACKLUSTER experience.

TOUR OPERATOR COMMENT: Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate when guests find time to write a review, even when it is a negative one. Regarding your complaints, we do understand the guide did smoke one cigarette while on tour and we have asked him not to do so in the future. We strive to chose venues on side streets to minimize noise so we apologize if you had difficulty hearing your guide. We are sorry you didn't enjoy our food and wine tour as you wanted and we will take all your comments into consideration to improve our tour for future guests.

Based on the website description I was looking forward to this tour as part of a week-long visit to Sicily. And it did not disappoint! Our guide, Valeria, was a true local.....saying hello to police and neighborhood store owners along the way. She took us through several streets and alleys, pointing out the interesting historical significance of buildings and areas she has a background in architecture too. The food/wine stops were interesting in that they provided a sampling of things we probably wouldn't have experienced on our own. Just enough food, wine, walking and talking.....an enjoyable way to spend a relaxing evening in Ortigia.

Tour was fun and we enjoyed the company of the other people on our tour it was a small group tour and there were 8 of us. Our guide Anna Maria was very lovely and shared a lot about Sircusa, but she didn't tie what we were eating to Siracusa at all. It would have been nice to know why the particular restaurants were chosen and why the foods we sampled were chosen. That said, the proprietors of the places we went were great and very accommodating there were several people with food restrictions. And the food - delicious!

Fun tour with a nice sampling of wine from the region and a taste of the food. Our tour guide was friendly and enjoyable to be around. However, I felt a little underwhelmed by the whole experience might have been because of the heat. This is what I remember.

This was the highlight of my holiday! My husband and I booked this trip a long time in advance as we were excited to try the local food and wine when we arrived in Siracusa - and it did not disappoint. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun - creating a great atmosphere amongst the group and making us feel very welcome. We had lovely fish and white wine at the first venue, followed by a huge amount of cheese/meats with red wine at the second. Our final stop was at a little cafe for dessert and sweet wines. Between each stop, our guide showed us the wonderful sites of Ortigia and this encouraged us to come back to the island another 3 times during our trip - as it is so spectacular. We could not recommend an activity more!

We really enjoyed the Siracusa Food and Wine Walking Tour. Our guide, Elisa I believe that was her name was very nice and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. We were able to try different seafood dishes which were my personal favorite, different cured meats and cheeses, Arancinis fried, stuffed rice balls and a variety of Sicilian desserts including the classic Ricotta Cannoli. We were also able to enjoy different wines and liqueurs, which were also delicious! We also did a Food and Wine Walking Tour in Taormina, which we really enjoyed. Overall, this type of tour is not only tasty, but a great way to experience the culture from a local's perspective via your guide as well as a great way to meet other tourists and enjoy a social evening out and about.

This tour was a lot fun and offered a surprising amount of food and drink. Based just on that, I would recommend this tour but given how informative, passionate, and charming our guide Elisa was, then I say you need to do this. We spent a few pleasant hours winding through the streets of Ortigia. Book this early in your stay as Elisa points out not only historic and tourist attractions but also restaurants and bars you might want to try. The first stop was full of fish - delicious octopus and mussels and a variety of lightly fried options, shrimp and sardines, as well as some very tasty wines. Afterward, there is a bit more a winding tour and then a second stops for meats, cheeses, arancini and delicious red wines. Our tour ended near the Temple of Apollo, again this portion full of historical context, before concluding for dessert and drinks at a little cafe. There was a sublime almond wine and delicious limoncello in addition to sweets such as cannoli. This was an outstanding evening and I highly recommend to anyone. The food was very good, the drinks plentiful, and Elisa was a lovely guide.

We enjoyed our tour in Ortigia a lot. Valeria, the guide, was great and very very knowledgeable! She was flexible as well and despite was not our first time in Ortigia we learnt a lot about the local history and culture. The tour is not too short neither too long, perfect for families!

Valeria DiMauro is a 5-star gem. What a lovely stroll we had through Ortigia, thanks to her generous heart, seeing the streets, vistas, architecture through her eyes.... savoring the food and wine was an extra bonus. We are moved to return to Siracusa thanks to Valeria great charm.
