Relax during the 1.5-hour journey to Cordoba after pickup from your Seville hotel in an air-conditioned coach. Get acquainted with the history and cultural mélange of the fascinating city as your guide offers an introductory narration throughout the journey. On arrival, immediately notice the charismatic mix of Muslim, Christian and Jewish architecture and disembark to explore the historical heart of the city on foot.

Weave your way down Cordoba’s quaint cobbled lanes and observe the abundance of flowering balcony boxes, antique bodegas and bespoke craft boutiques. Hear of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed city’s prosperous past and arrive at the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, a medieval palace-fortress thronged with gorgeous gardens and distinct architectural features.

Continue to the Mezquita, a majestic Moorish monument considered one of Europe’s most impressive. Listen to legends surrounding the mosque-cathedral’s 600 AD origin and 13th-century Christian conversion and marvel at the architectural accomplishment of the building as you explore the richly ornamented interior.

Next, amble over to the old Jewish quarter to see locals enjoy post-siesta tapas in ambient bars. Delve into the medieval myriad of the enclave and visit the Cordoba Synagogue to enrich your knowledge of they city’s Jewish heritage.

Conclude your tour with a leisurely stroll down Calleja de las Flores, a quaint alleyway that affords excellent views of Cordoba’s most prominent monuments, and then relax during the return journey to Seville, where the tour concludes.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba
Enter Cordoba’s most important monument, the Mezquita (aka the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba), a symbol of the many religious changes the city has undergone over the centuries. Originally a Catholic church, it was converted into an Islamic mosque in the Middle Ages, then back into a church after the Reconquista. With its otherworldly architecture, the Mezquita is considered one of the most accomplished Moorish monuments in the world. Notice the mix of stately Roman columns, Baroque and Renaissance frescoes and Moorish tiles and arches as you stroll the interior.
Duration: 1 hour
Admission Ticket Included
Stop At:
Jewish Quarter (Juderia)
Next, head over to the old Jewish quarter (Juderia), whose streets stretch out like capillaries and emerge onto tucked-away courtyards buzzing with locals enjoying post-siesta tapas. Listen as your guide points out the distinctly Moorish flair to these medieval alleys, reminiscent of the Jews' prosperity under the Caliphate of Cordoba. Here you'll visit the Cordoba Synagogue, one of the few synagogues existing today in Spain, built in 1315 in Mudéjar style. Before leaving Cordoba, walk down the tiny Calleja de las Flores alleyway, one of the most popular streets in the city. Look back to see the Mezquita's tower peaking between the corridor — Cordoba’s most iconic sight. Then hop back in the coach for the 1.5-hour drive back to Seville

The day trip to Cordoba was perfect! The van was right on time both in and out of the city and the ride over was relaxing and super simple. Cristina, the tour guide upon our arrival, was the highlight. She knew so much about the city and the site and presented all the information in a dynamic way. All in all, a seamless experience.

Time wasted by travel agency combining tours

The local agency has taken many small day tours from Cordoba and much time is wasted as we keep gathering in circles to listen to instructions , etc . The agency contact number did not work so pls ensure you check your email junk box regularly as I missed getting the message on the meeting time and ended up rebooking on another day / luckily I manage to call Viator HELPDESK for assistance

This was an excellent visit. Our local guide was outstanding and extremely knowledgeable. The Mosque Cathedral is amazing- even better than the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. Our pick up and drop off worked very well.

Beautiful town , average trip

Cordoba is beautiful and a “ must see “ . The bus was comfortable , we waited 30 min at the pick-up point and the whole time for pick-up was 40 min.I consider this OK for this kind of trips. The local guide in Cordoba was a nice guy but it was difficult to understand his English , especially at Real Alcazar and Jewish quartier where we had no headphones . We arrived in Cordoba at 11.45 , spent 20 min at the toilet queue at Royal Alcazar and 20 min visiting it ...No gardens tour ! The Mezquita/ Cathedral is very different , beautiful and interesting , there we had headphones but 90% of information was about its architecture and building techniques , not about history and social meaning. The tour begun at 10.45 and ended at 14.30 , than 90 min free ( be aware -at 33 degrees Celsius in October). I have no complaints about the tour , but I would rather prefer to explore the town on my own because I could not enjoy its beauty.

Small group turned into 50

This tour started out good. Then we got to Cordoba and started the site tours. By the time we got to the mosque our group of 10 turned into 50. It was hard to keep up with the guide with that many people surrounding him. Then, after a super hot day of walking around, we got back on the bus to Seville and the AC was barely working in the bus. We were so uncomfortable. This trip could have been much better.
