Fun trip and decent value for money

, May 2022
We all enjoyed the trip. The vineyard experience was really just wine and empanadas at the winery in the sun, but was fun. The lagoon was at the top of the switchbacks was awesome, especially as we had such good weather. We had a light lunch at Portillo’s which was ok. Brian’s drone was fun too. Angelica was a good host. Only thing we didn’t enjoy was Brian’s super fast mad driving all the way back to Santiago. Whole trip was 9 hours door to door.

Stunning views

The guide was very good and have lot of information to give us about Chile and Santiago, It was a long trip by minivan from Santiago, to came to the lagoon, but some small and short stops with, small walkingtours up in A Wineterass, Winetesting and Empanadas was very nice!, so the trip dosent feel so long. When you came upp to the Lagoon in the mountains after many, many curves IT WAS FANTASTIC! and amacing. And we get lucky with the wether it was warm and clearly sky.

Great excursion to a beautiful location high in the Andes near the border of Argentina. The wine tasting and petroglyphs walk were also worthwhile.

Good Tour Guide, OK Portillo Visit
Carolyn_M
, Mar 2020
We enjoyed the close up view of the Andes and stop at the petroglyphs park. We gave this three stars because of the timing....the Portillo ski resort was the main reason we signed up and without any snow and high heat the views were a bit lackluster and not what was pictured. We probably should have realized that seeing it was March. The guide and driver were very friendly and informative and it’s definitely a sedentary tour with a lot of time spent on the bus.

Great guide, poor experience

The driver and the guide were great! That’s about where it ends. There were 2 stops basically. The first stop is where you go to taste the wine and eat empanadas. But also to hike up a small hill to see some symbols carved into rocks. The next stop is the lake. But it doesn’t look like the picture you see in the description. At least not in the summer. I imagine it looks like that during the winter, but who knows. I took this tour because I’m not particularly interested in a wine tour, but it still took half of the trip.

Winery and views!
Roz_F

The visit to the vineyard to buy wine for the picnic obviously tempted us to buy extra to take home. From there we went to a hill with 500 year old stone carvings on it. It was a long climb upwards up a rock strewn rough path in the heat, not for the faint hearted or infirm, but the views were lovely at the top, the carvings a bit faint and not overly inspiring, to be hones would have been happy to sit at the bottom of the hill and look at a book of them, but perhaps that's just me. Our guide did say he thought they would be better displayed in a museum! But after that the day was magical. We had a 'snack' in the shade at the bottom of the hill of a hot empanada and wine tastings. We then piled back into the minibus and climbed up into the Andes to Portillo, where we were shown into a lovely restaurant overlooking the stunning lake, so that we could order lunch (not included in the price) The lake and the mountains were an amazing view, cameras very much at the ready. This is a ski resort where international athletes come to train, and with snow on the mountains would be even better. The return to the hotel was interrupted by a disturbance in the centre, but the driver just found another route and got us all back safely.

A great day trip with a wonderful guide and driver. Michael & Jimmy were excellent. The scenery and views from the Andes were amazing. Winery stop was also really great with wine and warm home made empanadas under some shady trees looking over the vineyard. Excellent trip with hotel pick up and drop off included

Was a lovely visit through the countryside and into the mountains. Wine tasting and snack was excellent. Drive up to Portillo was spectacular and lunch there was excellent and reasonably priced. Guide and driver were friendly and helpful.

Excellent overview of countryside near Santiago. Lots to see in Valle de Aconcagua and the drive to Portillo and Laguna Del Inca was outstanding! Alexis, our guide, was informative and funny. Hector, the driver, did great on the 31 switchbacks up and down the mountain. Worth doing.

The tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable about wine, and the drive up into the Andes was stunning. I took one point off for the minivan which although modern and air-conditioned was very claustrophobic.

Fabulous day trip from Santiago to the Andes mountains

, Dec 2019
This was a very enjoyable day trip to see the Andes mountain range from Santiago. The guide was excellent and the driver kept us very safe on the winding road up to the Portillo resort. The focus on wines is not my thing as I dont drink wine but all the tours seem to incorporate a winery. Would have preferred to spend the time doing other sightseeing. Apart from this aspect it is still worth the travel to the Andes to see the stunning scenery.

Not a winery tour
Michael_H
, Dec 2019
The guide Hector and the driver Jorje were both excellent and the views of the Inca Lagoon wre certainly spectacular but we booked it under the assumption that we were also doing a Winery/Vineyard tour & tasting and that didnt really happen. Though we did got to the Esteban Vineyard we did not really "visit " as we were ther only about 15 minutes. If we wanted to buy wine we had to do it BEFORE we did the tasting which was just three bottles we had with lunch. There was no "tour of the Vineyard" as stated int the description and no info about Chilean wine or wine making as we had hoped. Instead we did a more than moderate hike up the mountain to some petroglyphs which tho interesting were a little underwhelming for the effort it took to get to them. Also spent way more time in the bus than at any destination. Again, beautiful scenery but because we were expecting more on the wine side we found it disappointing overall

Well arranged in a matter of contacting me /updating. I love on time performance that’s why arrival of a tour guide exactly at the time we agreed made already satisfied. Guide followed the program and was quite informative. Amazingly delicious empladas during the wine drinking/tasting. (FYI to make it clear for others wine tasting here is just picnic style with 2different wine type and those chillian snack). Lagoon is beautiful, I wish I’m there in winter time! Andes are fascinating too! Restaurant in ski resort to was expected to expensive, but it wasn’t thus I had a nice time having lunch. As personally for me I like the tour, it’s worth of your day and money.

This tour was good value. The guide/driver Gabriel was knowledgeable and friendly. The hike to the petroglyphs park was interesting, the picnic lunch better than an expensive restaurant. The Portillo ski resort very scenic. Driving home through Santiago traffic is a pain, but not much worse than Melbourne.’

Great views and lunch but Inca Lagoon disappointing
Esther A
, Jul 2019
I had read that others were disappointed to have limited access to the resort facilities at the Lagoon during snow season, so it came as no surprise. The drive there and back was even more impressive than I had expected so it was worthwhile. Likewise the archaeological site was disappointing because of the damage that has been done and the difficulty we had finding the figures, but this was forgotten during the delicious tastings and snack in lovely surroundings. Our guide was very good.

Deceiving Ad - Don't go for it..

, Jul 2019
The area of this Lagoon is private, so you can only see it from distance. Portillo doesn't let anyone who's not a guest to enter its building, so its pretty much wait outside, far from the lagoon for about 1 hour... There was no visit to San Esteban Vineyard, this was a complete lie... We had to complain a lot so the agency took us to a very improvised visit of 20 minutes with no guide... Horrible experience.
