A Must Activity for Chocolate Fanatics
, Nov 2019
This is a pretty technical dive into the world of chocolate and probably not something for the kids to enjoy. We got a chance to see how the cacao bean gets transformed into the familiar forms we experience all the time There is an emphasis on good practices for farming and sourcing ingredients that may put you off the major brands altogether.
Great way to spend an afternoon

The owner of the shop was our instructor. She was very passionate about her artisanal chocolate. She owns a cacao farm in Belize and knows chocolate from cacao tree to truffles. She detailed chocolate making from harvest to finished product. Attendees had the opportunity to help process from roasted bean to hot chocolate. Our tasting gave us the opportunity to distinguish mass produced grocery store chocolate from her award winning bars.
