Returns to original departure point
Zip around Old San Juan by Segway as you explore its top attractions on this 2-hour small-group tour. Take in incredible views of San Juan Bay, Castillo San Felipe del Morro and San Cristobal Fort, among others, as you learn the fascinating history of this 500-year-old settlement first started by the Spanish Empire.

Meet your group at Pier 2 in Old San Juan, the tour’s departure point. Your meeting time will vary depending on the tour option you select, leaving at either 10am, 1pm or 4pm. First grab your helmet and get a safety lesson on using the two-wheeled Segway from your guide, and take some time to get familiar with starting and stopping. From there you’re ready to roll, heading out into the streets of this picturesque colonial district.

Move along the area’s cobblestone streets and colorful facades, stopping for photos and for a military history lesson from your guide. Soon you’ll reach Darsenas Square, which provides panoramic views of modern San Juan and its bay, and then see the remains of the San Juan Gate, where you'll hear about the crucial role the city’s harbor once played in maritime defense.

Continue your ride along the hilly streets, stopping to admire the imposing walls of La Muralla, a 3-mile (5 km) long and 140-foot (43 m) high barrier that once served as the linchpin of Old San Juan’s military defenses.

Your tour then moves past some additional monuments, including the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, site of the remains of famous Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon, who searched for the Fountain of Youth, as well as the Ballaja infantry barracks and the cannon battery of La Perla, which was eventually turned into a slaughterhouse. After a few more attraction stops, your tour finishes back at the departure point.

VERY UNHAPPY

Due to weight limit for one person in our party we were unable to participate. WE WERE TURNED AWAY! I requested a full refund, and was told I could not have one, and that I would get a $25 credit for a future excursion are you kidding me!? I am appalled! When I booked the trip there was no mention of a weight limit, they asked our weight. If there a weight limit or if they would have emailed back and said we can not accomplish your weight I would have never booked the excursion. I want a FULL REFUND NOT A $CREDIT. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Greetings, we regret this situation. When we asked for the weight, your answer showed a weight below the limit, hence our confirmation. If your answer where to be the correct one above the limit, we would have inform about the impossibility of riding Segways above the weight restriction due to safety.

Fun experience but difficult to find location

The Segway tour was fun and easier than I thought it would be given it was our first time on segways and the roads in Old San Juan are very steep. Angel, our guide was nice and well informed. I didn’t get the feeling he loved his job but at least he made for an enjoyable experience. The location of the Segway office on Pier 2 isn’t readily visible so my daughter and I and the others in the group were late as we walked up and down the pier looking for some sign or indication of the tour office. Normally we always receive a call ahead of time from the tour guide or company to confirm our reservation and provide us with information ahead of the start of the tour but this time no one reached out to us. So if you decide to do this tour I’d suggest calling them ahead of time.

Greetings, we are very happy you enjoyed this tour. We will talk to Angel to find out why he doesn’t love his job. Also, we will request permission to install a billboard at Pier 2 to signal that our office is right on the pier and guests just need to walk into the Pier and not pass it. Sorry for the inconvenience

Best way to tour old San Juan
Tina

Juan was a great guide. Full of helpful information to help us not only better appreciate the history but also enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. It was also wonderful to see him taking careful measures to ensure our safety by training us to use the Segway and sanitize the equipment before use. Definitely a worthwhile trip. Thanks!
