A true Puerto Rican adventure
Olivia_B

Wonderful trip, was able to experience the beauty of El Yunque and a true rainforest adventure, jumping from cliffs and swimming beneath waterfalls. Energetic and friendly tour guides who clearly have love for Puerto Rico. Was absolutely exhausted after finishing the night off with kayaking in the bio bay!

Jamie was great. Funny...

Jamie was great. Funny and knowledgeable about the flora and sites we visited during our tour. Helpful even when I needed a little help to climb up one or various area in our hike and just an amazing energy to be around. I'm a local, but I hadn't experienced El Yunque that way before. Please keep in mind it is a very physical tour, lots of walking, hiking, swimming and paddling. Take into consideration all the tips and pointer before booking. Go ahead and ask questions and take the tour with these great people; support our local tourism.

Okay but could've been better!

The jungle, the water slide, the jumping/swimming spots are all beautiful. The trek to get there is not easy with all the mud. There are a few ares where you need to climb some rocks to get up/through. You will need to embrace the mud and many times people slipped and fell. Sneakers or shoes with good grips are very important.. I think it's best for children 12 and up, but know your child. If he/she is active/adventurous...it should be okay. There was a 9 year old girl woth us who made it there..but did not want to do the slide/jump... a parent had to escort her down. It's a beautiful spot so understandably it's very crowded. We had to wait a lot at the falls and the swimming hole. We wished the guides spoke more of the nature and area during those times and throughout but they were nice enough. Their main priority was probably safety than informative. Tell them ahead of Time whether you want to do the slide/jumps or Not. Bio bay tour guides -island kayakers company- were overall good. They tried to be as organized as possible Kayaking in the dark with big group is a difficult task. What the tour included activity-wise made for a great day and adventure. When I compare guides- They were okay- not bad, not great.

This was the best...

This was the best excursion my family and I have ever been a part of. My 2 daughters, ages 7 and 9, live to hike and climb on anything they can get their little hands on. This trip far exceeded our expectations as far as level of difficulty as well as being pushed outside our level of comfort. Jami and her colleagues were extremely personable and knowledgeable. After a day filled with challenging hiking which included rock climbing, cliff jumping, rope swinging, we went to a local restaurant for lunch. I can say with no hesitation, this was the best meal on our vacation. We ended the day with the bio bay tour in kayaks. This was my wife and I's second bio tour but the first kayaking outing for the kids. The timing of the trip, with almost under a complete full moon limited our view of the bioluminescence but the kids enjoyed themselves thoroughly just to experience kayaking at night. Our vacation was meant to be one of relaxation, enjoying some family time after this past year of madness with the entire world up-side-down due to the virus. This excursion felt like the first feeling of normalcy since this virus began. I can say collectively, we wouldn't have changed our vacation at all and the rainforest and bio bay tour was the highlight of it. Thanks again for a lifetime of memories. Highly recommend

Nadir, thank you so much! Exceeded your expectations?! My smile was almost as big reading this review as seeing the pictures of the girls participating in the tour. They are quite adventuresome! We are definitely desperate for some normalcy and so thankful you were able to feel it even for just a day. Enjoy the pictures and the memories and come back and see us when you come back to the island!

Not for the faint of heart but a fun challenge

Our tour guide Luis was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Rainforest was a day of muddy fun! Bioluminescence bay was a let down- nothing to see the night we went but not a fault of the tour.

Hola Melissa! Thank you so much for joining us for a full day adventure. I am sorry to hear that the BioBay wasn't glowing as bright the night of your tour; but I'm happy to hear you had a great time with Luis!

Great experience!

The hike was excellent! The guides did a great job helping us navigate through it, especially the tricky spots where we needed to know where to put our feet to get over rocks and things like that. The fresh fruit and lunch were also delicious. The kayaking portion at night was a bit underwhelming.

This was an amazing experience and well worth the time. I highly recommend this activity & going out to face your fears. I jumped from a 35foot rock into the beautiful river and it was the best experience I’ve ever had in my life.

Fun Adventure Filled Day!
Lauren_C
, Feb 2021
Strongly recommend! It was an adventure packed day with the convenience of not having to plan anything ourselves. The transportation with a local pickup and drop off was ideal. The rainforest was amazing! They took us to rock water slides and areas to cliff jump and rope swing. The guide was protective and reassuring, making sure we felt comfortable and giving us advice. You will get VERY muddy so choose your shoes wisely! The Bio Bay after dinner was also a truly unique experience. Kayaking was relaxed but the hike in the rainforest did involve some rock scrambling and stream crossing as a heads up!
