Your guide will pick you up from your San Jose hotel in the morning for the 1.5-hour drive to the town of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí. Pass through a famous national park and learn about the beautiful native landscape along the way.

The adventure begins with a cruise down the mellow Rio Sarapiquí on a riverboat. Soak up the tropical surroundings as you make your way down the river, and be sure to keep an eye out for the many creatures that call this area home, including crocodiles, monkeys, exotic birds and sloths. Your naturalist guide will point out highlights during the 2-hour cruise.

Next, it’s time to take to the air along a series of ziplines that crisscross a private rain forest reserve. You’ll be outfitted with a harness and hard hat and receive a brief safety training. Then, step off the first treetop platform and feel the thrill of soaring across the canopy. Enjoy a rush of adrenaline and a bird’s-eye view of the amazing ecosystem below as you glide from tree to tree.

Once back on solid ground, savor a traditional Costa Rican lunch at the reserve. Rest and relax on the drive back to your San Jose hotel.

The tour guide was a little rude and I didnt feel comfortable asking him questions. We rode in a very little boat and went looking for crocodiles before going zip lining. boring The ride was about an hour, I just wanted to arrive at the zip lining location. We arrived and got 2 guides who did not speak English which is important because we didnt speak Spanish. You can only imagine the confusion that went on during this tour. We had fun, but it was a real work out. The buffet lunch was just ok and I felt Iike they were watching us as we fixed our plates. We ate and that was pretty much the end of the tour.

River sightseeing cruise was a old flat motor boat. There was very little to see. There was a long walk to the zip lining and it was an old road and fields that were quite muddy. The ride to the cruise was quite long. Waling back to the lunch area was very wet and muddy. Would be quite a chore if it was the rainy season. The tour guide did not seem very interested in us during the ride to the cruise area. Not the best tour that I have been on.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! This was my first time ziplining and everything was extremely well organized. More importantly, I felt extremely safe even though we were hundreds of feet in the air. What was also nice about this was that if you do get tired, you can actually stop at a certain point since this does involve climbing a few ladders. I would definitely do this again!

Initially I booked this tour but was told the day before it would not be available. i was then told I could book the 6 in 1 tour for the same price after some back and forward over email and the phone the night before. There was some miscommunication because the tour operator was not on the same page as Viator apparently because I ended up having to pay more after we had taken a long bus ride to the rain forest. That was a bit of an annoyance but it worked out and I put that on Viator and not the tour. I would be more careful with that. As for the tour it was a good time. Pick up at the hotel and drop off at the hotel full day out in the rain forest. Great way to meet people if you are a single traveler and bond over some adventures. The whole 6 in 1 is a lot more hype than it is worth. The best part was the ziplines i don't think any of us disagreed with that. The 6 are Visit to Molinete River Hanging Bridge Guided walking tour Aerial Tram tour Canopy zip line tour 10 zip lines with 14 platforms Adrena-Line 700-meter Zip Line / Superman Zip Line Cable Butterfly and Frogs Garden Let me break that down. The Guided walking tour is a walk around a trail that we all were just laughing about. There was a quick stop at a Butterfly and Frogs Garden. The Aerial Tram tour we were all falling asleep but for this crazy situation with a dead sloth that albeit morbid because the highlight and story from that. All that I would skip. The Visit to Molinete River Hanging Bridge was the walk to the zip lines which again were the highlight of the tour and made it all worth while. Juan Carlos and Richie and i forgot the girls name were all awesome. They legit made the whole trip worth while. I can't give them more praise. They helped coach the people who were afraid and let those of us who were not let our freak flags fly. Great crew. Even though the booking was a bit dicey i would definitely recommend the tour for the zip lining alone.

I am a woman and I was traveling alone, I was being picked up by a man with a regular car. He said I would meet the rest of tourists 1 hr away from that location. Pls email me this ahead time, or let the person id himself, so it does not look shady. Jorge was rushing us through the tour.

Not an adventure for someone with mobility issues. Tough climb on ladders on zip line, but rewarded with some speedy zips. It's a different type of excursion I enjoyed greatly. If you done the other excursions, this is one to put on your list.

This was a great tour - the biggest downside was the long bus trip to and from the boat/zip lining. We stayed at a downtown hotel, and the ride was nearly 2 hours. But the boat trip and zip lining were great fun, with knowledgeable guides. They were also extremely helpful with my senior citizen parents who needed extra care with stairs and walking, etc. The only other small criticism would be that it would've been nice to have a bit more explanation about the equipment and its capabilities/protections, but the guides were very capable. Overall, this was a very good excursion.
