Expected Pura Vida but instead got Puro Mediocridad. My guide Roberto was rude to me and I never got my photos.

The day on Monday got off to an exciting start as the tour shuttle arrived on time 5:40 in the morning. I soon discovered that that would be the only exciting part of the day. There was to be no picnic in the rafting experience as per restrictions. The drive to the base was two hours from San Jose and we passed a National Park, another good part of the trip. Breakfast was bland and ordinary, it did not fill me up. When we finally got to Pacuare, I was excited to be in front of the raft as I had done this before but soon Roberto, my guide insulted, called me lazy and weak and switched me out with a woman. There were good sights to be seen, in a sense like a cruise. But no stops and fun excursions. When we got back to base camp, we were served another bland and cheap meal, I am surprised they even called it lunch. I was ripped off with my photos as I paid on the spot with cash but was told they would be mailed to me. I an not certain what kind of company does not print photos on the spot especially if they are a tourist attraction and trying to appeal to their company. I will not go again on this river rafting event.

White water rafting on the pacuare river was a blast. It was so fun exciting to go down the rapids. Our guide was awesome. Be prepared to finish exhausted because it is quite a long trip and you paddle about 85% of the time. Well worth the cost. Its pretty far from San Jose though which was where my hotel was so if your coming from that area, expect about a 2.5 hour drive
