Great guides, beautiful views and many different temperature changes. We were sad that the tour did not take us to the point where you see the Pacific and the Caribbean at the same time. You do mention it in your descriptions of the tour.

Crater but not the summit
govanal
, Feb 2020
I booked this trip mainly to go the summit of Volcan Irazu. It was only when we reached the car park at the crater, a little way below the summit, that I realised this wasn’t on the agenda. There’s a good path to the summit viewpoint and lots of people were up there. The guide said it was a 2 hour trip which is clearly nonsense- looked like 30-40 minutes to me but she was clearly indicating that there wasn’t enough time. Otherwise the organisation of the trip was flawless and it was moderately interesting but I I wouldn’t have booked if I’d known the summit wasn’t included.

Half day trip to Irazu

I thought the price was very high for a limited experience. The volcano was nice to see. We could have skipped the church, although some other passengers really liked the church. Given it was Sunday we could not go into the church; mass was occurring when we were there.

It's a decent tour to the Irazu volcano. They give you enough time to walk around the volcano and take cool pictures. The tour guide was very kind as well.

Great trip!

The volcano and the crater is awesome! We read in other reviews that the crater is dry; if you come to Costa Rica during the rainy season, the crater will be filled with water and is absolutely beautiful to behold. We only spent about 10-15 minutes in Cartago, which was somewhat disappointing, as we didn't get to see very much, although I imagine we would have seen more if we had taken the full-day trip. Either way, this is a great tour option!

Irazu Volcano tour

Our guide, Leo picked us up promptly and was very knowledgeable of the city and surrounding area. I scheduled the tour in English and he asked if he could do it in Spanish since the entire tour was bilingual. It was fine and he was more comfortable. Leo took us to Irazu and even though it was mostly clouded over it was a beautiful site. On the way he gave us some history of Costa Rica and a city tour. He also stopped at some local places for food and coffee which was a bonus. On the return trip he took us through the city and allowed us some time to visit the downtown square and cathedral. After the tour was completed he dropped us at the Children's museum downtown and gave us instructions on how to return to the hotel. A nice bonus. All in all, the tour was highly recommended by us. Comfortable and informative. Just be sure to bring warm clothes as the weather at the top of Irazu is very cold! Pura Vida!
