Our driver/guide Kenneth made this such a wonderful experience from start to finish. He picked us up right on time, and was very helpful and patient with the group throughout. We were able to enjoy every part of the itinerary as listed, and he safely drove us through the mountains and back to our hotel. If we come back, I will definitely seek out Kenneth for another tour.

Great Guide & Trip

Tour guide, Juan, did an excellent job. He provided the right level of background and historical context to bring one from early origins to present. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable - offering to help in any way he could answering numerous question in English & Spanish with ease. Wile weather became an issue (thunderstorm) is was still a great trip well worth the investment. From San Jose it is a long trip through winding roads, but still worth it.

Juan was great to show us around the area. We were so happy with the local fruit stands and small places we never would have found on our own. He was a great driver and very knowledgeable of the local facts. Thank you!!

Our tour guide was named Kenneth. He was the BEST tour guide we’ve ever had!! He was so knowledgeable and friendly. I am severely allergic to nuts and he helped every step of the way to ensure none of the food had nuts. I have traveled other places and have had reactions to nuts in food and so was very nervous coming to Costa Rica. Beyond the service, the tour gave us the chance to see so many things we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. We stopped at a fruit market that was locally owned that had strawberry wine, visited a cafe with so many hummingbirds, saw waterfalls, and stopped at a coffee plantation. It was amazing!! We highly recommend:)

We absolutely had a blast during this tour. Our guide Jordan went the extra mile to provide a good quality service for us and he was very kind and knowledgeable about the country and its history and geographical information. Also the driver, Don Alfredo, was such a kind and pleasant company, not to mention very knowledgeable about coffee. We could only recommend.

The tour was amazing. Our tour guide Juan was nice enough to pick us up at a hotel not listed for pick up. We went to a beautiful coffee plantation where we were able to take pics. The coolest part was the fact that we were able to see a sloth, once again thanks to Juan. And we didn’t have to go deep in the jungle to do it lol, he spotted one next to the parking lot. We went zip lining which was so much fun. Had a delicious lunch and dinner. The day couldn’t of been better! This is a must do tour if going to Costa Rica. Juan was really knowledgeable and gave us so many cool historical information on the country. Thank you Juan!

Never made it to pick up spot

We couldn’t find the tour director in time and he sent an email instead of calling. We didn’t realize San Jose was a 2 hour drive from our hotel (when I asked for a pick up at our hotel, Viator said they couldn’t pick up there, but never explained that in Costa Rica 39 miles means a 2 hour drive by car)! I tried to call but couldn’t get ahold of anyone at Viator, in fact local number was not a working line! Don’t book unless you are staying in San Jose or plan on a very, very long drive to get to pick up point.

First of all, we would like to thank you for choosing our services. On the other hand, we don’t appreciate the fact that you placed a 1-star review for something you were completely responsible for. Just by reading the title of your review, it is very evident that you did not show on time at the meeting point of your tour (your responsibility); and even if you would have hypothetically contacted the tour director on time on the day of the tour, you were arriving late at the meeting point anyways! Just to be clear, we did call you to let you know we were waiting for you but didn’t receive any answer; in any case, our maximum waiting time is 10 minutes past the scheduled pickup time, we waited for you 13 minutes, and then we had to leave because we cannot make the other punctual travelers wait because of your delay. If you did not realize San Jose was 1.5 - 2 hours away from your hotel, that is totally out of our hands, because we sent you a message with the specific pick-up time and place OVER A WEEK before your tour date, which we consider enough time for you to do your own research (as most travelers do), to find out how long it would take you to get there in order to determine if this tour works for you and if not, all you had to do was cancel the tour (very simple). We cannot assume that you wouldn’t be ok traveling that distance to the meeting point, because we receive a lot of bookings from that specific hotel and never had a complaint about the distance, I guess because those travelers have done their homework to be aware of everything involved before booking a tour that departs from a different town. You are blaming us for the distance between your hotel and the meeting point, but, did you ask us about this distance? No, you didn’t. Granted, how are we supposed to guess what type of information you need if you didn’t ask? The reason we consider this an unfair review is because we did everything correctly on our side since the beginning, by answering your booking on time, by providing the confirmed pick up time and meeting point days ahead; by trying to communicate with you during your delay, and also by waiting for you for over 10 minutes past the set pickup time of your tour, which is our maximum waiting time. Even though it is evident, I have to mention that we have been working very hard in the past years in order for our tours to have an excellent rating thanks to the great service we provide, and of course, we respect a low rating review if we make any type of mistake that deserves a low qualification; but in this case, we consider this review unfair, due to the unnecessary excuses you are using to justify something that was your responsibility and out of our hands.
