Great way to experience the Mayan ruins.

We traveled to Belize as soon as they opened for tourists in June 2021. Perfect travel weather and terrific adventure activities with few other travelers. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. The home cooked lunch was great and swimming in the cave was fun.

My friends and I had a great experience on this tour. We stayed a good distance outside of San Ignacio in the rainforest and the pickup was no problem. Elio was our tour guide and he was awesome! He made sure to accommodate us for anything we needed along the way. Along with that he was very knowledgeable and made sure we had a great time. I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was Elio. He was great, very knowledgable on all things and we were very impressed. He also had a great sense of humor so we had many great laughs during this tour. He was accommodating with any requests we had and gave us plenty of time if we wanted to shop or eat. The food we had for lunch was amazing local type of meal which we had been craving. The cave tour was our favorite and we had a blast tubing! This tour really made our visit to San Ignacio memorable. Hakunna matata!!

Elio was an amazing tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Xunantunich. The cave tubing was a favorite. On our way out of the cave we got to hear howler monkey's. This was the best excursion of our trip to Belize.

Ellio with St. Bernard’s Tours made this trip. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The caves were closed due to rain, but that didn’t dampen the day at all. We were offered great alternatives and ended up at Big Rock Falls after the ruins. Highly recommend.

Thank you for taking time to write your review. We are really happy you enjoyed your tour as a last minute change due to flooding can indeed dampen the day but thank you for taking it all in your stride. Big Rock is one of our favourite spots and at St leonard's we are so happy you had a great day with the amazing Elio.

Must-Do for Time Crunched Travelers

Elio, our guide, was fantastic! The way he told us about the Mayan Ruins history, the caves and answered our questions about Belize made it evident that he was passionate about history, Belize, and his career. While floating through the caves, Elio told us a Mayan legend, and the passion behind his voice made the cave floating even better. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the tour, which made it feel exclusive and gave us the opportunity to go at our own pace. Can't praise this tour enough, especially for travelers with limited time! Gives you the chance to see Mayan Ruins and explore caves. Thanks, Elio!

Wonderful Day with Elio

We had a wonderful time with Elio at Xunantunich and cave tubing. Elio was so knowledgeable and captivating. His information enhanced our experiences greatly and made this a day to remember. Lunch was amazing and my food allergies were taken very seriously. I cannot express how much I enjoyed this day. Worth every penny.

Incredible sites, Incredible tours, Incredible Guide

The day started out with problems... All the rain cancelled the Cave Tubing, but the Tour Company did us well. They gave us multiple choices. One being Xunantunich only and have the afternoon off. The other... going to Cahal Pech and Mayan Chocolate making. My wide and I wanted a full day adventure and it was. Our tour guide Eliodoro (told us to call him Elio, because that is what his friends call him) made it an incredible day... even with the rain, it did not hold us back. Elio was a wealth of information. I have a Masters in Anthropology and I learned more from him in one day, than in one class... Not only Mayan architecture, but culture, fauna & flora past & present history and Mayan lore... he made sure that in the rain and the limestone structures we were safe in our explorations. He did't just tell us about the individual sites, but how others (Chichen Itza/Tikal) were related and their differences. The three different Mayan architecture styles in each... I can go on & on about the sites & Elio, but if you take this tour, we hope you can get Elio as your Guide. The Mayan chocolate making will get you to look at chocolate in a whole different way. However, we hope to return to Belize and San Ignacio to take the cave tubing tour that we missed thanks to Mother Nature. By the way, the most important thing Elio taught us was how to pronounce Xunantunich... It sounds like Tuna Sandwich :) We would give Elio... 6 stars
