Departure Time

9:00 AM
Your driver-guide picks you up at your hotel in the comfortable and spacious 4-wheel drive SUV.

Start by crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods. Skip the parking hassles at this popular destination as your driver drops you off close to the forest paths. There you can take a short or long walk in the coastal redwood forest, going at your own pace.

After your time in Muir Woods, your guide takes you to Sausalito, a bayside town known for its restaurants, shops, art galleries, and sweeping views of San Francisco.

Head back to San Francisco to explore both the popular sights and the places that are not as well known. Learn about the city's different neighborhoods as you cruise through places such as Chinatown, North Beach, the Presidio, Haight-Ashbury, and Twin Peaks (weather permitting). You can visit Baker Beach then swing through Golden Gate Park to return to Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower, and Lombard Street.

Lunch is at your own expense and can be taken when and where you choose. Your driver plans the itinerary to optimize your time on the day of your visit and returns you to your hotel in the early evening.

Family West Coast Cruise

Hi When one disembarks from a large cruise ship, and has pre-arranged a private tour, there is always some anxiety about meeting with your guide. We did NOT need to worry with Thomas, owner of “Land’s End Tour Company, Inc.” He was prompt, courteous, and efficient! Our six adult family members fit nicely into his very clean SUV and were whisked away through intimidating San Francisco traffic. We passed Fisherman’s Wharf, views of Alcatraz and sea lions, and on up to Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill. There, we were treated to a panoramic view on a perfectly clear “blue sky” day! Thomas expertly drove us through Pioneer Park, down Lombard Street (just like Steve McQueen) while narrating facts and figures and amazing prices of real estate. We had photo stops and never felt rushed. Then we saw the “Palace of Fine Arts” the Presidio, and were driven to Muir Woods. We were given ample time to walk contemplatively down the many paths and experience the Great Sequoias. We truly felt like we were on sacred ground. After a quick survey of the gift shop, we headed to Sausalito. Thomas was an amazing, almost “Google-like” source, fascinating us with history and charming stories while driving with perfect precision and expertise. For lunch in Sausalito, he gave us a choice: “A view”, or “Where the Locals eat”. We chose the latter, and “The Peddler’s Inn” did not disappoint us! Our meal was fresh and perfectly prepared, from burgers to seafood; all served with huge open windows admitting a delightful breeze and affording a stunning view of the bay. Thomas allotted the perfect amount of time for leisurely strolling and shopping in Sausalito. It was an unusually record-breaking 90 degree day, but Thomas had the AC on, and the SUV thoughtfully cooled for us. Also on this tour, we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, and experienced Twin Peaks! Thomas Anger was a fascinating, thorough, conscientious guide. We would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend him and his Business: “Land’s End Tour Company, Inc.”

Tour Guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about San Francisco and took us places we would not have seen on a group tour. This was the best experience of our trip to this beautiful city. I told our hotel about this tour and recommended they pass the word on to their clientele. Fabulous and I can not say enough about it.

Best day ever in San Francisco with my Mum

Our guide Thomas made our day sensational. I was travelling with my Mum (73) and we able to get around and see so much in one day. Thomas has exceptional local (and general) knowledge which added so much value to our tour. Thomas took us to places we never knew existed but will never forget, he took us to different vantage points to get the best photos and knew how the weather, wind, fog etc would impact our tour and managed it accordingly. Thomas made us feel relaxed and like his personal guest. I highly recommend anyone wishing to see San Francisco to take this tour with Thomas. Thanks again Thomas for such a special day.

What a wonderful tour! I was comparing this to the big buss tours and am so glad I choose this one. For our party of 4, it was just a little more money than the buss group tours. Thomas, our private guide was so knowledgeable about San Francisco and the surrounding area. He took us to all the spots I knew we wanted to go see, and he took us to a few that I didn't know about, but was so glad he did, like the offices of Lucasfilm in the Presidio. The Boys and I were thrilled to take our photos in front of the Yoda fountain! Because we were a small group, Thomas could get us into places that the large tour groups couldn't go, and we got to set our own schedule and pace!

Great tour! We saw everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - but Alcatraz and the best things about the tour were that we could choose whether to stop for photos, we decided how long to stay at any particular venue, and we could go places that tour buses can't go, including Lombard St. and Hawk Hill. No waiting until the rest of the people on a tour were ready to go or rushing to ensure that we were at the meeting place in time to climb on a tour bus. We took a leisurely stroll through Muir Woods, learned a little history while exploring bunkers and the views at Hawk Hill, had lunch and did a little shopping at Sausalito, drove through Haight Ashbury, the Presidio, Chinatown, viewed Golden Gate Bridge while getting sand between my toes, all at our pace. My husband is disabled and can't walk long distances. This was the perfect tour for us because of the flexibility it offers, but it would be a great tour for anyone who wants to see as much as possible of SF in a day.
