What a fantastic sightseeing day tour! Thomas was our guide and not only is he a wealth of knowledge, it is obvious that he loves his job and wants tourists to have an unforgettable experience! Thank you Thomas. This trip was the highlight of my journey to San Francisco and area.
Great tour guide, beautiful areas visited; stop in Monterey should have been longer to allow more time at the Aquarium which WAS offered as an option but unfortunate no longer as a discounted add-on to the excursion- had to rush through that leaving very little time to see anything else in Monterey but glad I took that in. Tip- pick up area brochures before getting on the bus, can make much better use of time.
We had an amazing day on this tour. Dug (our guide and diver) was absolutely the best!
Tip: sit on the right hand side (facing the travel direction) - this way the coast and all views will be much closer to you.
We went on a week day in March, about 25 people on the bus, so it felt very uncrowded. Many beautiful stops and it feels that we saw so much. If you do not want to drive yourself - just take this tour to get the first taste / glimpse. It made me want to spend more time in this area :).
Our guide/ driver, Antonio , was informative & entertaining. The trip was full of gorgeous scenery with plenty of stops for pictures & breaks. Sunny weather & spacious comfortable bus made it a perfect day!
Wow!!! As presented, it was definitely a full day tour. Our driver, Don, was amazing. He didn’t only speak about the various places we visited, but so much of the history of different areas we drove through to get to our destination. This has to be one of the best tours I have ever taken. We were in awe of the amazing beauty of the coast. The trip got better and better as we drove along the amazing coastline. The stops that were included were amazing. We had more than enough time to have lunch and see so many of the amazing shops in Monterey. As we stopped at various points along the coast, we were so privileged to be able to see, up close, a beautiful Elephant Seal who was sunning himself on the beach. The shopaholic in me would have loved to have an additional 10hrs. in Carmel but... Don, thanks for being such an amazing driver/tour guide.
Lots of great stops, California coast beautiful, don the driver very good at his job. The 17 mile drive the highlight for me and my wife but Monterey and Carmel great, maybe the time in Carmel could have been longer.
Oh my god, this tour was SO AMAZING. I cannot speak highly enough of this tour and our amazing tour guide and driver, Don!! I LOVED his commentary and I learned soo much... All of his commentary was very interesting, but I especially enjoyed it when he talked about Steinbeck and the inspiration behind some of his books.... I love literature, so I was all ears!!!! :) Oh and the scenery... Gosh. The Californian coastline is extremely beautiful. We saw a beautiful herd of deer(!!) down by the beach, I patted friendly squirrels on the back who were just chilling down by the beach, saw many seals and sea lions and beautiful birds... Not to mention the dramatic cliffs along the coast and the beautiful cypresses and the perfect turquoise surf... I was in heaven. We made great little stops along the way which enabled us to take beautiful photos and videos. Seriously, everything was so perfect. I loved Monterey and beautiful Carmel and I also loved just sitting on the bus and drinking in all the beauty that I saw. 17 Mile Drive is so incredible that I'll HAVE TO go back one day and do it all over again. It was a PERFECT day!!!
Do yourself a favour and do not miss this tour if you're in San Francisco...!!
Saturday we went on the beautiful tour to Monterey, our experience was absolutely amazing. From the views, to the driver Josh, to the movie choice and song games! He told us a lot about the area and made it very interactive. Best tour guide and area to tour! Also the comment from Melinda was actually meant for Josh as well. She forgot the name! 😂
Excellent tour! Our tour was on Saturday and our driver was Dan. Honestly, I’ve traveled all over the world and had many tours, but this tour (and driver) topped most! Monterey, Carmel and the 17 mile drive are absolutely beautiful. I’d have to say that the drivers narration really made the trip most interesting. His music and movie 🎥 choices were an added benefit. My teens who were dreading the tour actually thanked me for making them go. And don’t forget to plan on tipping your driver! It’s kinda rude not to. The tour price (10 hours) is very reasonable so I imagine the drivers aren’t paid tremendously. Tipping is a great way to say thank you and it encourages really great, and knowledgeable individuals to even want to be guides.
