Returns to original departure point
After pickup from downtown hotels, your Salt Lake City sightseeing tour starts with a visit to the State Capitol Building, followed by a stop at Old Deseret Village, aka Pioneer Village, and a chance to see part of the historical Mormon Trail.

Continue to Temple Square, where you can explore the gardens and enjoy a live recital in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, also known as the Mormon Tabernacle, famous for its organ—one of the largest in the world with 11,623 pipes—and for being the home of the world-renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Next, head to the Lion House, the old pioneer home of Brigham Young, Utah’s first governor, the founder of Salt Lake City and a former leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This 1856 building is now a restaurant where you can enjoy lunch (own expense).

After lunch, pass by more Salt Lake City sights like Fort Douglas, the University of Utah, the Pony Express Monument, some of the city’s oldest mansions and churches, and sites from the 2002 Winter Olympics such as Olympic Legacy Plaza, Olympic Village, the Cauldron and Olympic Stadium. Your tour then ends with hotel drop-off downtown.

The guide was good, however, many of the places stated in the tour we never went to which was disappointing. If this is typical then you need to change what the tour includes.

Hmm..Sorry you were disappointed, however, every tour follows the same 20 mile route and visits all the places. Because of COVID maybe you are referring to the two locations where we are not allowed to see the interiors. An extra attraction was added this tour season because of this. Again, we are sorry you feel we missed any of the places we promise to show everyone.

Excellent tour and knowledgeable guide

Excellent tour and very knowledgeable guide! I had difficulty finding the start location and he was able to direct me in time. We saw many beautiful sights that I would not have seen on my own like mansions, churches and beautiful architecture like the Public Library. It was a great mix of viewing and stopping for pictures. I was able to go back to 3 places after the tour and explore more on my own. I highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your trip, as it gives you an excellent preview of what you might want to see later in your own time.

This was one of the best tours that we have taken. Michael, our guide, was amazing. We came from outside the continental United States and Michael was exactly what we were hoping for in a guide.

Great tour with wonderful stories on the history of the city. Some constraints on what we could access (Capital inside access and no lunch stop) from normal tour based on COVID restrictions. Our guide was retired ex teacher and clear he is great explaining things and wonderful storyteller.

This was a great tour. Our driver wore a headset with mic...easy to hear and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour in the beginning of your stay so that you can get an overview of possible places to explore. They did have to improvise due to covid and the tabernacle is closed due to renovation. Overall, very pleased I did this tour!
