This tour was disappointing on so many levels. First, we were picked up and taken to the headquarters where we could be outfitted with extreme weather clothing. Once dressed we were told to go stand outside where we waited and waited for instructions. We were finally loaded into a van with a driver who drove way too fast for my comfort on snow covered roads. We were taken 1hr from the city center to a mountain which if you have difficulty walking or poor fitness tolerance may be slightly difficult to walk up. There were 17 people and the guide didnt seem bothered by the fact that there were less fit people struggling to get up the steep incline. Once at the middle of the hill she stopped and explained the auoras. Second, the title is a misnomer this tour has nothing to do with photography. No pointers on camera settings, no offerings of tripods, and not even a scenic location for the photos. Third, it was cold on the mountain and there was a teepee with food and a fire. We weren't warned to be careful walking to the teepee which would have been important since several times your legs sink into the deep snow. Once inside the teepee the staff in there were less than welcoming and were helping themselves to the food which was suppose to be for the customers. Inside was chaotic we were told to help ourselves but the woman at the table wouldn't let us touch anything then proceeded to manhandle sausages and stick them on sticks with her bare hands. We got to roast the sausage ourselves. However, there was not enough seating around the the fire for everyone. Those who had food then had to move to the outer seating which was cold. The guides talked amongst themselves didnt have a back up plan for if the auoras didnt appear. It wasnt until one guide decided to have an interactive session which was nice but stupid. After the alloted time passed we were allowed to escape the mountain. Same way up was the same way down. Guides didnt care about the slower less fit. Then back in the van with the same crazy driver and a pit stop on the side of the road pointing to city lights being told those were the auoras. This was terrible absolutely terrible! The only bright spot was the warm juice drink. Not worth the $100

Disappointed mainly due to bad weather and location. We heard from another group doing the snowmobile that they saw the lights from another location. So location was key and our was not a good one (maybe during this day). Plus we can really see the light pollution from Rovaniemi as our location was facing to it. But the tour guides Anthony and another person was nice.

I wonder this feedback as we are the only ones who go on mountains and very far from the city lights like 56 kilometers while others stay near. We have got the best site for following Northern Lights: Absolutely dark, facing north, the best micro client and horizon visible. We also have the longest over 20 years experience of organizing these tours.
Great way to capture the Northern Lights

Professional and friendly group who were very well prepared for the tour - cold weather clothing and boots were readily available and they took the time to explain the phenomenon to everyone and assisted with personal photographic gear.

Even though the weather was rain and thick cloud and we didn't see the northern lights, our guide made it all enjoyable.
Couldn’t see anything

Actually it’s my 2nd time to go to see Northern lights. It was raining so I thought that was cancelled but the guide let us join tour. (In Norway, if the weather is not good, the tour was cancelled.) We couldn’t see anything still was raining. Worst thing is... the guide never told us even his name.
Excellent guide and good fun
