Nocturnal adventure Glow-worm tour

Being in the forest at night was a wonderful experience. The kids ( and the adults) loved it. Stephen was great. A wealth of knowledge, passionate about torches and really great to be with.

Stephen was an unbelievable tour guide. He's knowledge of the forest & glowworms are just remarkable. Stephen took us to places in the forest that was unreal and spectacular! We did many many things on our holiday trip but this goes to the top of the list! This is a must! Once in a lifetime experience! Highly highly recommended. Thanks Stephen.

A very fun, informative and different adventure. Went with kids ages 11 and 7. Face to face with glow worms and got to within meters of a wallaby and more. Stephen very personable and fun and loves what he does. Easy pick up from hotel. Great torch collection (!) and interesting how to get close to animals using them.

We had an amazing night. Not o lucky did we get to see the glow worms but we also got to learn all about the life I. The forest. He’s a bundle of knowledge. He also went out of his way to take some amazing photos in the bush of my husband and myself and also the other group with us . Highly recommend this tour it’s the best . So much value for your $$

The night tour was absolutely awesome. Going into the forest at night with a small group and seeing glow worms and other animals - what more could you ask for. Stephen will also send you the most incredible photos. We strongly recommend this tour! :)

Stephen was a phenomenal guide for the nocturnal glow worm tour. We learned all about the plants and animals in the region, saw glow worms up close, and even saw opossums and a wallaby in the forest! Stephen made the entire evening enjoyable with his knowledge of the forest and the area. He had the evening impeccably planned, including some great photo ops along the way. This was hands-down one of our best experiences on our New Zealand trip! We could only do the glow worm tour on this trip but will definitely try to do another of his tours next time we're in the area! :)

Unreal tour! Stephen's a true character, good wit and personality and added a great vibe to the experience. This tour offers you a genuine, up close interaction with the glowworms all whilst being super respectful of the land and offers up some top info and history on the surrounding area and Rotorua itself. Pickup was easy from the Info Centre in Rotorua and the bus ride was a breeze just out of town. Jump on this tour if you want a close up, more organic experience with a unique tour operator. Stephen has an epic torch collection, too. Major props.

This is definitely one of the highlights of our trip to New Zealand. Stephen was our guide and he took us a short drive out of Rotorua to the native forest. We were equipped with lamps and head torches and led off into the trees. There we saw a wide variety of ferns and other plants. Stephen’s knowledge of the forest was vast and his enthusiasm infectious. The first sight we had of glow worms was by a waterfall. The second was nearby at a cliff face where there were hundreds of tiny lights looking like a clear starry night. This was something we will remember for ever. The finale was a real clear starry night and Stephen pointed out some of the constellations. This is a must do trip if you are in or near Rotorua.

If you are looking for a non-commercialized and local tour of glowworms, Steven is your guy. This tour included a private guide through the forest and Steven was incredibly knowledgable about glowworms, the trail, and the Maori tribe. A very nice man with an incredible tour that gives you a real in-depth look at glowworms in their natural habitat. There is no other local, private-guided tour in Rotorua that brings you up close and personal to the fascinating glowworms. Thank you to Steven and Rosita for such an incredible adventure!
