With this tour, enter the Vatican through a special fast-track gate and spend as long as you want inside.
Your Vatican experience starts in Vatican City, where you’ll meet your host and walk to a private, priority entrance. Your admission ticket provides you with the fastest skip-the-line entrance at the Vatican Museums. After a brief introduction, and your host will provide a map of the museums and leave you to explore the museum complex’s 9 miles (15 km) of rooms and galleries at your leisure.
Design your own itinerary and enjoy highlights such as Raphael’s Rooms, a series of four connecting rooms adorned with Renaissance works by Raphael and his students, the Pinacoteca Gallery, and the Etruscan Museum.
Most explorations of the Vatican Museums end at the crown jewel, the Sistine Chapel, a particularly sacred site, as it’s where new popes are elected. Of course, you’re there to see Michelangelo’s legendary frescoes, The Creation of Adam on the ceiling and The Last Judgment on on the wall.
If you’d prefer to explore the Vatican Museums with a knowledgeable guide instead of on your own, upgrade when booking to include a tour limited to 20 people. You’ll see the highlights of the complex, including the Sistine Chapel, as well as neighboring St Peter’s Basilica, one of the world’s largest churches and home to more Renaissance works. From your guide, hear about the history of the Vatican, from art to power to treachery.
Our session was started by meeting the guide who would take us in and give us a fast past tickets. That was it. We were given our tickets and told to go. It was very confusing, we weren’t given a map (like other people with tickets), therefore we couldn’t find our way around well. We also were confused about how we would access the chapel and St. Peter’s dome. Which resulted in us missing the chapel. Overall it was disappointing, if we were given a map like other groups it would have made things a lot easier.
Loved the Vatican and chapel
Unfortunately the guide was very hard to find
Directions confusing and two sets of stairs so we found the wrong guide. Thankfully a local woman came to our rescue and helped.
Need to make the guide easier to find
we got cheated very badly here as well. we paid 170+ dollars for being cheated. no trust in viators vendors . if it was just about standing in line with someone who would come buy the tockets which are so cheap and we paid just for that person to come stand in line...i dont understand how people can cheat like this and take peoples hard earned money.
Great tour! We ended up paying twice because we got lost from the subway after my phone, that I used for navigation, was pick pocketed at the subway, arrived late and missed our 8:30 AM tour, only to be talked into paying for the next available tour by a salesman on the advice we we can get a refund for the earlier tour that we missed. However this was not the case when I contacted customer support. My advice is if you arrived late and missed the tour, don't think you will get a refund. I traveled with my family of 9, including my 86 year old grandmother and 3 children, so a very costly mistake to take the subway and get pick pocketed. Very misleading salesman to think we can get a refund and pay again!
The particular day we went to the Vatican there was practically no line so this skip the line pass was really not needed. We did not do the guided tour as we didn't have much time, so we basically overpaid about 30 euro to skip ahead of about 5 people.
The meeting point for getting the tickets is far from the museum entry and meeting point of other tours. We also missed our time slot due to the metro being very busy. Regardless, the staff promptly managed to accommodate us in the next group. As a suggestion, maybe try simplifying the whole thing having only one meeting point for all tours.
The museum is huge and crowded, and will require patience to go through.
