Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Be among the first people of the day in all the Vatican on this small-group tour.
Meet and greet your guide opposite the entrance to the Vatican Museums, a collection of galleries filled with classical and Renaissance masterpieces, including the Sistine Chapel frescoes. Walk inside through a reserved door without any waiting. This access is even faster than the priority lines.

Once inside, there are more than 2,000 rooms and nine miles of art, so follow along with your guide who points out the highlights and explains the story behind each piece. The small-group nature of your tour allows you to remain close to your guide at all times, but a headset is included to make sure you can always hear the commentary clearly.

Stroll through rooms like the Gallery of Maps, with its golden, vaulted ceiling; the Raphael Rooms, painted by Renaissance artist Raphael; and the stunning Sistine Chapel, considered to be the Pope’s home chapel, with Michelangelo’s 'Creation of Adam' and
'The Last Judgement.' On your early-access tour, you find the galleries to be considerably quieter than they would be later in the day.

Finish with a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church ever built and one of the holiest and most important sites in Christendom. Get an overview of its long history from your guide, and get an up-close look at 'La Pietà,' one of Michelangelo’s earlier sculptures that depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion.

Your tour ends inside the basilica. After you’ve finished exploring with your group, you can stay as long as you want on your own. It’s the perfect time to head down into the crypts or climb up to the top of St. Peter’s dome (own expense) for uninterrupted views of Rome.

This tour was the highlight of my trip. Maria-Laura was a great guide who explained the highlights of the museum but didn’t spend too much time with boring stuff. we got to skip the line and went into the museum about an hour before it opened to the general public. Only thing I noticed is they guarantee no more than 12 per tour and we had 14....not a big deal but just saying...

Federica was an amazing guide. She brought the history to life and was completely engaging with our tour group. I know my Vatican experience would have not have been the same had it not been for her knowledge and awesome presentation Amazing experience

Francesca was a very knowledgeable guide who obviously loves her work . Having just 12 in the group added to the experience as you felt you were being spoken to directly . Would highly recommend

Fantastic tour with such a lovely knowledgeable personable guide named Laura. Enchanting being amongst the splendour without any crowds and being guided to the magic ‘greatest hits’ and not feeling overwhelmed. Well worth the extra money for such a special tour. I highly suggest going to the dome of St. Peter’s after the tour (extra 8 euros - lots of steps but the view is amazing !!

A really great introduction and feel for the Vatican. 30 mins in Sistene Chapel a bit long. Maybe half that time and remind tourists to refer to leaflet and silence required.

Good tour but less talking, more walking would help

It was nice to have a guide help make sense of the vast collection of art in the Vatican Museum, but more walking p, less talking would have moved this rating from a 4 to a 5. Because the radio system did not work, we had to huddle around the guide to listen to the commentary rather than being able to wander a little while listening. This meant that a lot of time was wasted is just standing still and then rushing past much of the art. The guide was knowledgeable and excited about the tour, but the problems with the radio transmitters really took away from the experience.

Totally worth it

Totally worth the money. Loved our tour guide Marina who was so helpful and helped us to appreciate the art and it's history. Without her we wouldn't have taken as much away from the tour. Also, it's worth mentioning that this is a true skip-the-line tour without the need to wait at the group entrance. We only have to wait for 5-10min for the security check but that cannot be avoided.

Great Experience!

Our guide was very professional and informative about the history of the museum and it's artifacts. Perfect size group. We walked past a lot people who were waiting in line. Our timing as we toured the Vatican Museum was on point. We were able to stop and view some of the art that you would normally have to rush thru. She explained the history and the meaning of the art that were looking at. It was so interesting. Highly recommend!
