Next, head for the Jewish Ghetto and Theatre of Pompey to see remains of ancient Roman structures as well as Rome's synagogue. Taste some of Rome's best pizza, as well as suppli—a traditional street food made by frying a ball of rice with tomatoes and mozzarella at its center.

Continue to the area known as Torre di Largo Argentina, where Julius Caesar was assassinated. Visit a nearby family-run gelateria to eat some of the city's best gelato. Hear how gelato is made from the shop's owner.

We very much enjoyed this introduction to the city of Rome and its street food. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable, and made us feel very welcome. We found the tastings included fairly limited, and would consider a more extensive food-focused tour in future.

Fabulous tour. Our guide Simonè made it really interesting. We tried meats, delicious light pizza, suppli (my favourite), artichoke flower and gelato. We saw lots of things we wouldn't have seen otherwise and it was great to walk around Rome at night. Would highly recommend this tour
