Your Rome Segway adventure starts by meeting your guide at a location near the Villa Borghese gardens, where you’ll have a practice session to get familiar with your 2-wheeled electric Segway. Then take off toward the park, gliding past the Spanish Steps leading up from Piazza di Spagna.
Cruise into the gardens, the largest public park in Rome with 148 acres (80 hectares) of trees, fountains, galleries, statues, green space, wide lanes and other features that create a serene atmosphere. As you travel along shady pathways away from Rome’s crazy traffic, you’ll pass by sights like the Canonica Museum, Temple of Diana and Piazza di Siena, one of the gardens’ environmental and architectural gems. Your guide shares information about these sights throughout your tour.
Continue to the Lake Gardens, designed by Englishman Jacob Moore during an expansion project for the park. Pause to admire the lake, and explore this more recently developed area that’s home to flowerbeds, shrubs and other landscaping. Then see Valadier House and the Water Witch Fountain before your tour ends at Canonica Avenue.
