After pickup at your Rome hotel by your professional driver, hop into your private minivan to start your day trip, which takes you south of the city into the region of Campania. During the drive to your first stop, catch a glimpse of the Abbey of Montecassino, a hilltop monastery.
When you arrive in Pompeii, pay your own entrance fee before heading inside, where you have ample time to take in the archaeological ruins of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Itinerary
This Private tour has been designed for guests who wish to enjoy an overview of the Amalfi coast, visit the picturesque village of Positano and explore Pompeii, which is the most important excavation site in the world. Meet your knowledgeable English speaking driver at your centrally located Rome hotel, then hop inside your private, air-conditioned minivan (sedan) and journey south to Italy’s Campania region.
Heading south exit rome and Drive past the Roman Castles. The so-called Roman Castles (Castelli Romani in Italian) are a group of comunes in the Metropolitan City of Rome. They are located a short distance south-east of the city of Rome, at the feet of the Alban Hills, in the territory corresponding to the Old Latium.
It is a roughly 15-kilometer-wide gulf located along the south-western coast of Italy . It opens to the west into the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered on the north by the cities of Naples and Pozzuoli, on the east by Mount Vesuvius, and on the south by the Sorrentine Peninsula and the main town of the peninsula, Sorrento. The Peninsula separates the Gulf of Naples from the Gulf of Salerno, which includes the Amalfi coast.
Vesuvius has erupted many times since and is the only volcano on the European mainland to have erupted within the last hundred years. Today, it is regarded as one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world because of the population of 3,000,000 people living nearby, making it the most densely populated volcanic region in the world, as well as its tendency towards violent, explosive eruptions of the Plinian type.
Is the most-visited archaeological site in the world, due to its many and well-preserved ruins, left behind by a city buried in Vesuvius’s wake in the year 79 A.D.
