A MUST!

This excursion was everything we hoped for and more. It was the complete package! We basically toured the island by vehicle on our way to the sloth and monkey preserve. It was breathtaking. Once arrived, there was no rush and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted with sloths, monkeys, scarlet micaws, and other birds. Each guide was very knowledgeable of the animals way of life and answered all our questions. After spending time with these lovable creatures, we were driven to the snorkeling location where we hopped in a boat for a short ride then into the ocean we went to discover the underground world of Roatan. There was a guide with us in the ocean too, bringing our attention to the living creatures. We felt safe, taken care of and so refreshed with this experience. Definitely a favorite and would recommend to anyone.

My family and I did this tour and we all LOVED it! My family consisted of 3 teenage boys who are hard to get interested in doing anything outside of video games and their phones. But they truly enjoyed this tour! We got to hold the sloths, play with the monkeys and the Macaws. Afterwards we went snorkeling which was another amazing part of the tour. Everyone was really nice and we felt safe the entire time. After all the activities our AWESOME tour guide Mr. Fernando took us to a local restaurant per our request and we had the best meal ever! Fernando was an absolutely amazing tour guide. Also pick up was not problematic at all. Very easy process.

Excellent experience all around. Easy link up right outside the cruise terminal. First stop was to see the animals which was a blast. I agree with other reviewers that the animals all looked well cared for and the conduct of the staff seemed to back it up as well. Staff was knowledgeable and seemed to truly care for the animals. Next was snorkeling and our guide took the time to ensure each person saw the unique things we would come across. Lastly, he let us provide our email address to send us free photos he took throughout the tour. Amazing experience all around.

Highlight of my trip! Though it was a bit crowded, I never felt rushed with playing with the monkeys and sloths. Animals appeared healthy, happy and well taken care of. ‘Penny’ was our driver/guide and was flexible with our agenda. We loved her and AJ’s!! ❤️❤️

Such a great tour!! Well worth the price. Was driven around by a local expat with so much knowledge of the island. Great vehicles. Great visit to the local rescue for the monkeys and sloths, really nice snorkel spot. Snorkel guides were great and the equipment was in great shape. A really enjoyable experience - highly recommended. Also, they tour guide took great care in getting us back to the port in lots of time for our departure.

Ever since we first encountered sloths in Costa Rica, I've been obsessed with these fascinating animals. Getting a chance to hold one was incredible! My only concern was that the animals might be stressed by all of the human interaction, but the sloths, Capuchin monkeys and macaws appear healthy and well-cared for. AJ's staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and our guide from the tour was very attentive. Our driver was excellent. A quick word of advice: The bus has to park some distance from the Coxen Hole terminal because of traffic. The guide meets and escorts you, but you have to be able to walk 1/3 mile or so. We drove a few minutes to the boat launch, and took a two-minute ride to the snorkel area. We stayed in a protected cove since the waves were rough that day. Our guide, Preston, was terrific, pointing out different species of coral and fish. There weren't many fish that day, but it was still a good time. My only suggestion is that they spend more time instructing novice snorkelers before they get in the water. I don't recall anyone explaining how to clear your snorkel, and life jackets were optional. Regardless of the water depth, a more comprehensive safety briefing and snorkeling instruction should have been provided. We've snorkeled many times, but I can imagine a newbie being intimidated. We ended the excursion at a gorgeous beach club, with plenty of loungers and a decent menu. This was optional; you could return to the ship if you wanted, but we were ready for some R&R. We had more than an hour to enjoy the facilities, lunch, and the water. We've been to Roatan several times and usually go to West End beach. This was a new spot for us, and we'd definitely return. Overall it was a terrific excursion. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a sample of all the great things Roatan has to offer.
