Returns to original departure point
Following convenient pickup at your hotel in Reykjavik, leave the city for your day's exploration of Iceland's southern coast. As you travel, take advantage of the in-bus audio guide, available in 10 languages, to gain insight on the landscape as you pass.

First, you'll head to the Sólheimajökull glacier. Trek around the crevasses and cracks with a certified glacier guide. Learn about the formation of the glacier, which flows from the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, and how it helped form the surrounding landscape. Then, travel to Skógarfoss falls, where you'll climb 527 steps to admire the 213-foot (60-meter) waterfall from above.

Finally, stop at Seljalandsfoss, considered among Iceland's top natural attractions. Walk the path behind the rushing water to get a different perspective on the tumbling falls.

Back on board the bus, pass through an area rich with both fertile land and Viking history. On a clear day, get unobstructed views of the Westman Islands, Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes.

At the end your 11-hour sightseeing tour, return to your Reykjavik hotel for drop-off.

The description of the tour isn't...
Christina L

The description of the tour isn't accurate we thought we would be going to all the places listed but that isn't true. At the start of the journey, the tablet indicated people would have to choose between the glacier hike or touring the black sand beach/Vik village. We thought we're getting the whole package of visiting all these places which was why we booked the tour initially. We opted for the glacier hike but was disappointed we didn't get to go to Vik or the black sand beach b/c we chose to do the hike. And the entire tour didn't last 11 hours or close to it so didn't feel like we got our money's worth either. Also the stops at the waterfalls were also limited to 15-20mins to stroll around and have to return to the bus. I will suggest to change the tour description so others would know better than feeling they will get to do all these things when they are on the tour. Our glacier guide was good and our group was small so that gave us advantage to hike slightly higher on the glacier than others hike was 2hrs.

We had a great time on this tour...

We had a great time on this tour. Our hike in Sólheimajökull glacier is magnificent. Once a life time experience. Since we were the only 2 people opt-ed for the South Coast with glacier hike tour, the hiking part of the tour was practically a private tour. We had 3 guides with us as there apparently a quota for each group in order to get on the Glacier, one of the guide is in training and one is the trainer. They are fun to talk, and they brought us into a giant moulin a hole in the glacier and explore it a bit. One thing to clarify though, we were in the car with others without the hiking option, so the driver drop us off with the hiking guide and then pick us up after our hike approx 3 hrs later. On the viator site, Reynisfjara beach is one of the sites on the itinerary, but for our tour we were not taking to there. Our goal was to doing a glacier hike so didn't mind it as much.
