Begin with pickup at your accommodations in Reykjavík, then travel to Langjökull Glacier with a certified driver/guide. Enjoy the scenery as you drive inland into the Highlands of Iceland, where volcanic deserts, glaciers, and bare mountain peaks cover much of the rugged terrain.

Upon arrival at snowmobiling base cape, you’ll learn the basics of safety, then suit up and take your snowmobile out on the glacier. Take in views from high above the surrounding landscape, and explore the glacier by snowmobile.

Covering 361 square miles (935 square kilometers), Langjökull Glacier stretches across several mountains to the valleys and plains below, and is undercut by volcanic systems and geothermic activity. At the end of your ride, return to snowmobile base camp, where you’ll wrap up the adventure and begin the trip back to Reykjavík. This tour concludes with drop-off at your Reykjavík accommodations.

The most amazing experience. It is well worth booking. Just prepare yourself for the hoping off and on the buses to get to the location as it is in the middle of nowhere. The tour guides were amazing. I think the girls name was Jessie and she was just amazing.

White-out!

Our truck got stuck in deep snow getting to base camp and it took a bit of digging and time to get out but it did make for an interesting experience. The snowmobiling was good but unfortunately the visibility was not good and it snowed a lot. But we did enjoy the experience overall and the almost ‘white-out’ conditions! It was an amazing experience!

What a super day! Everything from start to finish was well organised and couldn’t have been better. Would have been good to have had more detail in terms of the trip up to the glacier and the ice cave. Also you can hire snow boots and if you’re a larger lady no need to worry on the snow mobile suits they cater for all shapes and sizes! Wonderful day and would definitely do it again!

I had never been snowmobiling before and it was fab!! The tour guide was lovely and very informative!! There was a slight delay on the day but were informed of this so that was fine !! The views were absolutely amazing as we were up there as the sun was going down! We did get stuck in the snow as it but help was on hand so all was good, then had to put pressure in the tyres which held us up a little but it did not put a dampener on the day as this I guess can be expected if they are up and down the glacier all day!! I would totally recommend this experience to anyone visiting Iceland and will certainly do it again when we return!! FANTASTIC DAY!!! Enjoy peeps!! (Take snacks and drinks with you)

We had an amazing tour guide. Tony was very knowledgeable about the areas we were driving and make the long trip so much fun. Although there were a couple of hiccups along the way tony made sure we had the best time.

It is a once and a lifetime experience. I highly recommend this excursion. However, if you go in April make sure you bring water resistant clothes because we got soaked. Also, bring a set of clothes to change into for the long ride back to your hotel.

Fantastic snowmobile experience

Was the best day of our holiday, my misses took me to Iceland for my 30th, the snowmobile experience was part of the surprise. Got picked up on time, had an super jeep experience up to the glazier and with a little tuition was straight on up the glazier on the snowmobiles. When we got to the top there was an ice cave to walk into as well (winter only because apparently floods in the summer) what more could you want for a day. Big thanks to the artic adventures team! 👍🏻

Our family had great fun snowmobiling on Langokull in late December. While there, we ran into all kind of weatherincluding white out snow, sleet, and rain. The equipment provided keep us warm and dry. The guides were great and super responsible. Great fun and would highly recommend.
