After receiving confirmation of your tour departure, your evening begins with pickup from your central Reykjavik hotel by 4x4. Admire Reykjavík’s dazzling illuminations as you leave the city, then soak up the scenery on the drive to your viewing destination, chosen depending on the weather and Aurora forecast to maximize your chances of a Northern Lights sighting.

As you await the appearance of the Lights, make the most of a high-powered telescope to gaze up at the stars and listen as your guide points out the wonders of the solar system, including common star constellations, the Orion nebula, the moon, and even Jupiter.

If you’re lucky, the Northern Lights will also make an appearance and your guide will ensure all participants get a photograph taken against a backdrop of the spectacular light show (included). As the lights dance across the night sky, learn more about the natural phenomenon from your guide, or relax with a hot chocolate and Kleina pastry (included) as you take it all in.

Head back to Reykjavik at the end of your tour for hotel drop-off.

We had a wonderful time chasing the lights in our small group! Highly recommend doing this tour. The Jeep allowed us to go off the beat and path and have a truly unique experience. Finally our tour guide Þröstur Freyr was awesome and really made the event!

Highly recommended. Our family consisted of three 70 plus year old grandparents, two forty plus year olds and two teenage boys. The tour catered for all involved. It was highly informative and we had a great viewing of the northern lights along with an enjoyable star gazing experience. BOOK THIS TOUR.

This was the primary reason we came to Iceland, so we were heart sick when our tour was cancelled due to weather, but thrilled when we got to go the following evening. Our guide and the group we were with made the experience very enjoyable. Prostur, our guide made the experience exceptional by setting up telescopes which allowed us to better see the majesty of Christ's creation. The viewing was very clear, in fact Prostur indicated it was well within the top 5 in his experience! Taking us through the ghost house was an unanticipated bonus and very much appreciated. Another unexpected event happened when a Canadian gent knelt down and proposed to his lovely girlfriend!! Great times! In all we would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys the outdoors and good fellowship both with nature and like minded travelers.
