Traveler pickup is offered
We pick up in any Hotel in Reykjavík area

Your Northern Lights tour starts with pickup at your hotel in Reykjavik in the late evening for the drive outside the city. Meet up with other vehicles, and then start the search for the lights.

The route and stops you make depend on the weather and 'aurora forecast'; your driver takes you to places where you're most likely to see the lights, but of course this cannot be guaranteed due to the whims of Mother Nature. Efforts will be made to capture photos of you with the lights in the background, when possible.

Your tour ends with return to Reykjavik around midnight or 1am.

Tour vehicles have been modified with 40- or 46-inch (1- or 1.2-meter) wheels that can handle the challenging terrain of Iceland all year. They are equipped with fold-down steps for easy accessibility, leather seats, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, GPS, first-aid kit, trackwell, and other security equipment.

Please note: the tour operator reserves the right to cancel this tour at any time, depending on the weather and sky conditions. If the tour does operate but the Northern Lights aren't seen, you may try once again at no extra charge. If all nights are canceled due to weather conditions, you'll receive a refund. It is recommended that you book your tour for the first night you're in town so you can maximize your chances of sightings, in case you need to go another night. Group sizes get bigger if several nights in a row are canceled due to weather.

Absolutely wonderful!

This trip was phenomenal! I would highly recommend it. The tour guides were adamant to give us the northern lights experience and they did! Was one of the most spectacular sights I’ve ever seen! The hot chocolate and vodka was an added bonus! All I would say is wrap up as warm as you can.

Great Way to "Hunt" the Northern Lights

My husband was thrilled with this tour before we even left. He saw the Land Rover Defender, that we were going to ride in, and he was more excited than the kids. My husband and our guide talked about everything on the way to our meet-up point with the other groups - life in Iceland, cars, family life, photography, etc Needless to say, our guide was very friendly and we got to know him pretty well. We went to three different locations to try to see the lights. They say the most difficult part about trying to see the lights is patience. However, our guides kept us entertained the whole time - pointed out the different constellations and the milky way to our kids, regaled us with stories about life in Iceland, explained to us what exactly are the Northern Lights and brought hot chocolate for us. On our third stop at 1am, we finally saw the lights! I am so thrilled that I can check this off our bucket list and never have to play this game of "will it be good weather to see the lights" or "will the lights show up tonight". The next day we were on another tour and we spoke to some people who had also gone out to try to see the Northern Lights the same night that we did. They said that they got on a tour bus with forty other people, drove to one location, waited for two hours and then all piled back into the bus and went back to Reykjavik without seeing the Northern Lights. I am so glad that we went with the Superjeep Tour and they "hunted" the Northern Lights. It was a bit of a late night, but I was ecstatic that we actually got to see this phenomenon. We had such a good time with the Superjeep Tour group, that I wouldn't just recommend this specific tour, I would actually check out the other tours that they offer too.
