On arrival, meet your instructor to adivse of your ability level—beginner, intermediate, or experienced.

Get up-close to the Icelandic horses, learning about this gentle breed. Descendants of Viking horses brought here in the 10th century, these sturdy, good-nature steeds are known for their tölt, a four-beat gait that makes riding on rugged terrain smooth and comfortable.

Next, watch a short instructional video, don your provided riding gear, and hop into the saddle. Learn to ease your horse into the tölt, and set out behind your instructor. Soon afterward, having watched you riding, your instructor splits you into three groups—beginners, intermediates, and experienced.

Beginners ride slowly over easy terrain, with intermediate and experienced riders tackling more challenging routes at different paces. Just advise your instructor if you want to go slower or faster.

As you ride, soak in the beautiful scenery. Weave through lava fields and moorland, passing volcanic mountains and lakes.

After your trek, savor coffee, tea, or hot chocolate at the stables.

You should never ever go...

You should never ever go to Iceland without riding Icelandic ponies!! Scenery was beautiful. The girls who took us out were so so so good! Safe and fun!!! They knew history of ponies and showed a real genuine love for their ponies
A lovely morning ride!

This was a wonderful way to spend our morning! The guides were very nice and helpful, and the "noble viking horses" were friendly and easy to ride! It was great for inexperienced riders - very manageable without feeling like they were holding your hand the whole time. A great way to slow down and enjoy the scenery!

Beautiful landscape and tour through lava fields. Friendly guides. Beautiful, Friendly, Responsive, and Outstanding horses. We split into two groups based on ability. The intermediate group was able to trot and tilt quite a bit. It was wonderful

All around a great trip!

All around a great trip! Nice reception and stable, good coffee and well organized. The safety/introduction video was well made and gave the beginners the basic knowledge they needed to get started. Guides were helpful, calm and fun. They could read the riders well and split the groups up accordingly. The horses were so sweet and well mannered, and they were well taken care of. It was really fun to get the chance to speed up quite a bit and really enjoy the nature. Definitely going back for a longer tour
Highly recommend this tour for all ages.

It was a very good experience for all 10 of us. The guides were excellent and they were very safety conscience. Many had not been on a horse in many years and after a few minutes on the trail felt very comfortable.
Amazing experience

I loved the very professional and and caring attitude of the staff. I could see how well these horses are treated and they are such an amazing and gentle breed. Despite extreme weather ( they supplied excellent extra layers) I loved the trek on marked paths. I woukd definitely love to do this again
Hot to trot

The horses and staff were great. They broke us into a fast and flow group which made it more enjoyable. Don't wear hiking boots for riding tho as they do not slip out of stirrups easily and may leave you hanging as they did me by one leg
Blissful peace
