Why Travelers Choose This Tour

With stops at Kerið Crater Lake and the Blue Lagoon, this trip goes beyond the usual Golden Circle route.
Begin your full-day tour with pickup from your hotel in the Reykjavik area between 830am and 9am. Meet your guide and small group of no more than 19, and settle inside your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.

Then, set out into Iceland’s stark countryside on your 11-hour tour. On route, listen to intriguing facts about the country, hearing about its history, geology, and culture from your guide.

Head into UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, one of Iceland’s famous Golden Circle sights. Learn how it lies within a belt of volcanic activity, and is home to the mid-Atlantic ridge, where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia face each other over a valley. Walk between the plates as you hear how they are gradually moving further apart, and savor the experience of straddling the two continents.

Take a detour from the Golden Circle to visit the Kerid (Kerið) crater, a 3,000-year-old crater filled with a lake. Peer into the 180-foot (55-meter) deep hollow, and admire the magical-looking blue lake cradled by the red- and green-colored slopes.

Visit the Geysir geothermal area, exploring the surreal-looking landscapes on foot. View the bubbling ponds and steam vents, and see the Geysir and Strokkur geysers, the latter shooting water up to 98 feet (30 meters) every five to 10 minutes.

Stop at the Gulfoss Waterfall, taking in this beautiful 105-foot (32-meter) fall, and then continue to Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by lava-sculpted countryside.

Head inside (own expense, with pre-booking of your admission ticket required) and change into your bathing suit. Then, enjoy a long soak in the warm, therapeutic waters, lying back in the steam and admiring the lava fields as you bathe.

After about two hours here, your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off in Reykjavik.

A really enjoyable day.

A really great trip, which gives you the opportunity to see and learn so much about Iceland. Our guide was very knowledgable despite being french lol, and our time at the blue lagoon was just enough. My only complaint would be the lack of leg room in the bus, I’m only 5.3 and it was quite tight.

Dear guests, thank you very much for your kind words about our tour and guide, we really appreciate both. Regarding the bus, we only use new Mercedes Sprinter minibuses on our tours, which are widely recoqnized as being the most comfortable in this catagory. Thank you again for choosing our NICE tour and we hope to see you again soon here in Iceland.

Really worth a try!

Very much enjoyed it. Our guide Thor was super funny and knowledgeable which is a big plus for the tour! The tour itself had highlights such as Gullfoss (nothing I've seen before or even on Google images). This waterfall looked like something straight out of Game of Thrones winterland. Blue Lagoon was also majestic to say the least. I gave 4/5 because the crater is rather disappointing in the winter time and maybe we expected a little bit too much out of the geysers. Either way, the tour is really worth a try if you're staying in Reykjavik thinking what to do!

Booked this tour and gladly wasn't cancelled like the other tours due to weather. The tour driver David was great telling us stories and history about the area we were driving and keeping us entertained during the long drives. His recommendations were very helpful. He even stopped for a quick photo with the horses so that was a bonus. Highly recommended.
