After early morning pickup from your downtown Reykjavik hotel or guest house, travel by comfortable, air-conditioned super truck — a large 4x4 specially adapted to drive on glacier ice — to the snowmobile base station on Langjökull glacier, Iceland’s second-biggest ice cap.

On arrival, take in the views over the sparkling glacier and be shown to your modern snowmobile. Then, listen to a safety briefing, and don the provided snowmobiling gear, including a thermal coverall, balaclava, helmet, and gloves. Get instructions on operating your vehicle, and when you’re ready, set off in a small group of six travelers or fewer, led by a certified glacier guide.

Cruise over the glacier and as you gain in confidence, open the throttle and pick up speed. Zip over the ice, and soak in the far-reaching views over the surrounding snow fields and mountains.

Following about 30 minutes on your snowmobile, arrive at the ice cave, and walk to the entrance. Then, descend into the depths to admire the blue ice. Learn about the glacier’s formation and how the layers of ice form its heart, and take photos of the surreal-looking, icy world around you.

After approximately 15 minutes spent exploring the cave, re-emerge onto the glacier and hop back on your snowmobile. Then, rev the engine and enjoy the return 30-minute ride back over the ice to the base station.

Your full-day tour finishes with a drop-off back at your accommodation in central Reykjavik.

A great day of snowmobiling for our family of 4. All were old enough to drive and we had a blast! Crawing around in the ice cave was so fun and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable! The trek up to the Glacier was pretty amazing as well!!! You are driven up in these huge “Monster Trucks”!!!! Our driver was amazing!!! I would totally recommend this tour!!!
Best guides of my entire 10 day trip!

The tour was good but not what was expected and many others in my group agreed as we discussed on the bus home. We all very much enjoyed the snow mobiles and thankful to the company for keeping us extremely warm with their equipment in VERY cold elements while keeping us safe and monitored at all times. The let down the expectation that we would see ice caves and explore these caves for part of the trip. The trip purely a snowmobile tour!! We stop for maybe 30 minutes to climb Into a very small and low hanging (you must crawl) cave. It’s also very wet so made the drive home a bit uncomfortable. I wish we had an opportunity To explore more into caves then just ride for the tour. Overall it was good and a fun experience, but I would hope the website description clarifies better for future guest.
Bus crash

Not a professional organization. After driving for 30 minutes, we had to go back to Reykjavik because they forgot to pick up someone. The bus driver was in hurry. She drove too fast because she wanted to catch. The bus crashed. We are now back home from vacation. We mailed Arctic Adventiors, but we still have not heard from them.
Beautiful and fun

Once we got out to the glacier and ice cave it was awesome, but we just didn't get to spend much time out there. I would say we were on the snowmobiles for less than 30 minutes round trip. In addition, we were at the ice cave for about 15 minutes. Beautiful, just wish I could have spent some more time there. the group was also pretty large (like 30 people) and we didn't have the option of picking up our speed at any point. I don't think I would do this again. I can see how the cost is justified because the transportation, gear, and snowmobile included, but they should have let us spend a couple of hours on the ice.

Absolutely amazing this is a definitely must do if you come to Iceland it is a lot of travelling to get there but it’s well worth it when you get there and the tour guides and everyone is so nice and friendly
Misleading, not whats on the tin!

Me and my friends did your tour today and although we had a great time we did feel very disappointed as what we signed up to was not what we got. For one it states 1 hour snowmobiling  this is not true, being generous id say 15 minutes there and back. It also states and shows pictures of a cave, and describes this as Langjokull ice cave! We did not go to that cave we couldnt even stand up in the ice hole we were taken in. Langjokull ice cave is much larger and you can walk through it. Also our guide gave us no information as it states on our what to expect list!  Also it stated small group of 6 or less!? there was more then double that which made it extremely frustrating in terms of how fast you could go and how personable the experience was.  All in all we felt totally decieved and misled and although it was still a great experience it was not worth the money.

We where happy with tour guides and the snowmobiling on the glacier how ever we were disappointed with being notified last minute that we would not be able to visit the ice caves. No explanation given util day of when speaking with snowmobile guide. More communications would have been nice.
Best Day Ever!

Experienced guides took us to the ice sheet with confidence as we pondered the conditions. To drive yourself across an ice sheet at 60kmph on a snowmobile was exhilarating and so much fun... to top that off, venturing down in to an ice cave and listen to some local history was just an amazing day! Highly recommend if you have a sense If adventure and the outdoors!
