Ranthambore National Park: Shared Safari Admission

Do not use this company. You have to pay before you’re told whether or not there’s availability and in which zone. However, the communication after I paid was good and very quick, for which I’m grateful. They told me to be ready at 7am but called to collect me at 6:20am when I was in the shower, so I missed the pick up! They didn’t take my telephone number so didn’t call me. They emailed me, but I don’t have on notifications and anyhow I was in the shower! They rectified this by sending a car to me, but only when I tried to call them on every telephone number given. Some of the telephone numbers didn’t work at all and some were answered by people who didn’t speak good English. I was quite upset at the prospect of missing my safari. The safari is extremely expensive (50% more) in comparison to what you can get if you go through your hotel. I paid 3,000 for a cantar with them but 2,000 (including commission) to the hotel. The hotel were also able to allocate me to a preferred zone in advance. The tour was a glorified trip to the toilet and back. The ‘guide’ didn’t introduce himself or make any communication at all. He didn’t seem to try to spot a tiger either. They just drove us through the park and stopped at all the birds and other animals. In my opinion, they stopped too long when mostly the aim is to see a tiger! After about an hour, we had a ‘break’ at the toilet stop. We stopped for ages, way after anyone needed the toilet. The guides were nowhere to be seen and I had to find them and ask to leave. We just drove exactly the same route back to the entrance, with a really long stop at some birds. They didn’t even try to see a tiger! Again, I had to keep asking to move on. The total length was only 2 hours if you exclude the toilet stop. It’s supposed to be 7-10am but we left the park at 9.30, not 10 am. I went on 2 further safaris after this, organised by my hotel and they were much better, and more what you’d expect for a safari. We even stayed longer on the evening one. Although people recommend zone 4 for tigers, it’s a boring zone and small. You don’t get to see the fort or more interesting routes. I also went on zone 3 and 2. 2 was most interesting and also where I saw a tiger. 😻 A tip for the ladies: wear a sports bra! It’s so much more comfortable when being jostled around in the cantar!!! 🤣

We were very lucky to see a tiger, although from some distance. It was the 1 and only safari we did so all the more reason to be happy, but wouldn't personally think it'd be worth doing more than 1 as the chances of seeing tigers are slim

Abholung hat wunderbar geklappt, Guide sehr gut, hatten auch viel Glück u sahen 2 Tiger. Vor Sonnenaufgang ists wirklich sehr kühl, Decke od Tuch sehr hilfreich.

Hicimos safari en grupo (canter de 18 personas) a parte de que los asientos son exageradamente estrechos, no puedes observar bien el paraje. El guía no iba atento al paisaje para intentar captar a los animales, hablaba mucho con los de la primera fila. La gente tambien charlaba mucho... Y no disfrutas igual, es mucho mejor hacer un safari privado.
