Greedy and Untruthful

I booked the outing for my fiancé and I less than 30 hours beforehand. The morning of, my fiancé woke up with stomach problems so I messaged the vendor to let them know. Not knowing if they got the message, I also called them to let them know. I spoke to a live person who said that although they had prepared food, a car, and guide for us (as well as the 2 other people who had booked that time slot), he would email Trip Advisor for us to see if we could get a refund since we couldn’t cancel through the site within 24 hours. I asked about a credit to use towards some other future tour with this vendor, but he said it would have to be through Trip Advisor and he would send the email even though they had expended the effort to prepare things for us. I was thankful at the time. A week goes by, and I’ve returned from the trip. I call up Trip Advisor to see if they had received an email and would be processing some sort of refund. Nope. The Viator/Trip Advisor agent calls the vendor while I’m on hold, then relays the message to me that the vendor claims he told me there would be no refund, but they’ll grant it if I can provide medical proof showing my boyfriend was ill that day. I don’t appreciate being lied to - if the vendor had just said there would be no refund when I called that day, I’d respect it more than him telling me one thing then reneging on it. Fine, I think, we can compromise. I requested a 50% refund ($130 of $260) so that they feel reimbursed for having to prepare food for us and any other preparatory actions they took. The vendor still refused, deciding that they’re entitled to the full amount even though I called to cancel before the scheduled time and we never received any services. The way these people do business is terrible. I’d boycott this vendor on all future trips.

Spectacular Adventure

We had 3-generations in this adventure from 64 to 11 years old. From the pick up at local hotel to the drop off the service was top notch. We were just the 3-of us this morning in our group so we felt extra pampered. Breakfast and lunch were provided and was some of the best meals we ate in Costa Rica. Safety was always front and center. The thrills will be remembered. Our driver Rafa handles the wicked road as an expert. Our guides Alex and Bernal we knowledgeable and attentive. The photographer, Danny got some great action shots of us at reasonable prices. May want to bring a change of clothes for the ride back. We’d do it again!!! Thank you ADR

My wife, teenagers, and I participated in the 10 in 1 adventure with Amigos del Rio. It was a little pricy, but well worth the money. After 10 days adventuring in Costa Rica, this was the favorite activity of both of my kids. They call it the 10 - 1 due to the 10 zipline/repel activities (plus a few surprises that I wont give away. But we liked calling ot the 12 in 1 adventure due to the 4x4 ride in and out of the jungle. Juan Carlos was an excellent driver, even in the pouring rain. When we arrived and throughout the tour, Antonio did a fantastic job explaining instructions and how to use the equipment properly. Brichel was great at rigging and made us feel safe. Rodrigo was a super photographer and motivator. Sure, everyone in Costa Rica says "Pura Vida". But when Rodrogo says it, you get the feeling that he really means it! And he always followed it with a high 5 that helped keep everyone excited. The adventure was amazing. At the end, Juan Carlos had prepared a fantastic Costa Rican style meal that everyone enjoyed. Awesome trip! Highly recommended!
