Learn about the past and present and get a glimpse into the future of Québec City, a UNESCO World Heritage site, while walking along from one location to the next.

This private tour is a customized experience, so be sure to include any specific requests and desired attractions to the guide at any time.

Learn about the city's history and culture while strolling past attractions like the Fortifications of Québec. See and learn about the important function of the city walls from centuries ago and gain a better understanding of the defense system of North America's only remaining fortified city. Québec City is the only walled city north of Mexico.

There’s also the Citadelle of Québec, an active military installation and official residence of both the Canadian monarch and the Governor General of Canada; and Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Church, one of the oldest stone churches in Canada that stands on the very spot where Québec began.

Visit Place Royale, often referred to as the birthplace of French America, and the beautiful Plains of Abraham, where the famous Battle of Québec between the French and English armies took place in the Seven Years’ War in 1759. Also, enjoy views of picturesque Place d'Armes and take photos of the towering Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Canada’s most-beloved hotel.

The tour concludes back in the Upper Town district. It truly is a fun and fast way to get to know Québec City and the many amazing attractions it offers.

Richard - tour of Quebec City

Richard was wonderful! So knowledgeable and passionate about the city and it's history. He also rolled with our family which included two teenage boys, an 8-year-old girl and a grandmother. He adjusted his facts, humor, pace and itinerary based on their interests and questions. We can't speak highly enough of him or our experience! Casey

We had a great tour with Dominique. The weather was exceedingly foul -- we were actually a little surprised it was a go -- but we had a great 2+ hour tour. Learned a lot ... it was fascinating! Dominique gave us recommendations for additional destinations to pursue later on. Highly recommend!

Great introductory tour

Marie was an excellent guide. She is a retired French teacher and attended the girls’ school that we visited. She added humor to the presentation. We got a good historical overview and a learned about the physical layout of the city. Good way to get acquainted with the area before heading out on our own.

Standing tour, not walking

Normand was very knowledgeable and his family has deep roots in Quebec. His English was impeccable but I was disappointed in the tour because I felt we spent too much time standing in one place while he explained the history in too much detail. It seemed we saw fewer sights because so much time was spent standing in one place. This was not what I would call a “walking” tour.

Absolutely loved this tour with our family of four! Our tour guide (Richard) was AMAZING and he covered all the most important spots for newbies like us. He was also very attentive to our needs making sure to answer questions and stop for breaks when needed. One of the best walking tours we’ve taken.
