9-hour zipline and Monkeyland tour from Punta Cana
Zipline over 12 lines between 18 platforms in the jungle
Visit Coconut House to see how coconut oil, coffee, cacao, and tropical fruits are produced
Begin your day of adventure with convenient hotel pickup around 8:30am. With your group, climb into a safari-style truck and take off into the Dominican countryside, bound for the zipline facility. The ride takes about 45 minutes.
Listen to the zipline guides as they give a safety briefing and orientation, then get fitted for your helmet and harness. Test out your skills on a practice line, then climb to the first platform and take off. Zoom down 12 lines stretched between 18 platforms in the forest canopy.
After your zipline adventure, continue to the Coconut House, where you'll learn how coconut oil is produced and taste some local products such as cacao, coffee, and tropical fruits. Then, take a guide tour of Monkeyland, a sanctuary run by a Canadian couple with more than 35 years of experience working with animals. Watch the squirrel monkeys play and feed in a 5-acre (2-hectare) enclosure.
Refuel with a traditional Dominican buffet at the Mountain Ranch before returning to Punta Cana for drop-off.
We loved the ziplining. The course was good and the workers were pleasant. They made you feel safe. I guess I'm not the quite the monkey lover, though. I had no idea they would jump all over you and in your hair. Some people got pooped on. They were cute but I would have liked to stop holding the food bowl after the first round of getting swarmed. People should be told to bring an extra shirt along.
The ziplines were awesome! I would recommend this very highly. The employees were very helpful and very friendly. Monkeyland was a lot of fun. The monkeys were active and they are treated very well by the staff. Overall it was a lot of fun!
Best. Day. Ever! Everything about the day was perfect (despite the rain). From our driver and tour guide to the Zipline instructors to the Monkeyland and Typical House crews - everyone was courteous, VERY knowledgeable and all had a good sense of humor. The views on the drive and from the ziplines were beautiful. The monkeys were adorable. The food at lunch was awesome. We learned a lot and had a blast.
So much fun for all the ladies. The ziplines were amazing. The monkeys were great with rain poncho as it rained the whole time. Don't think I could have done it with them little paws touching me directly, lol!!
We got picked up at 7:15AM and didn't get dropped off until 6PM. We were the first to get picked up and last to get dropped off, which added a solid hour of sitting on the bus. The bus is comfortable and air conditioned. The tour guides are all so great and helpful. We went zip lining first and that was a RUSH, especially if you've never done it. The view is insane and beautiful. We then got lunch, which was pretty decent. Then did the Monkeyland. FYI you cannot touch the monkeys yourself. And be prepared for them to jump at you at all times. Heaven to me, scary for others. Such a great time! My biggest complaint is going to the "coconut factory" where you feel like you're in an infomercial just being sold everything. The guide spent a good 30 minutes telling us about all the products to buy. Meanwhile you're exhausted, tired, sweaty and uncomfortable just waiting to go back to your hotel. But even with that, it was an excellent day!
This was what sold me on coming to Punta Cana! I saw pictures of these little squirrel monkeys and I knew I had to go. The Ziplining was a little questionable because you have to stop on your own using the leather gloves that they give you. That made me really nervous at first, but after the first couple cables I got used to it and had a blast. The view from the cables was amazing. I loved zipping down and being able to take in the nature of it all. Some platforms required climbing up a ton of stairs. We were definitely sweaty when we finished.
Monkeyland was everything I thought it was going to be and more. The little monkeys were SO soft and cute. They had no problem scrambling across you and sitting on your hand or in your hands. It was definitely one of my favorite excursions that we went on during our stay.
The lunch that they fed us was also really good. Go crazy with the the beans and rice! It was delicious. Of course the pineapples were sweet and juicy too. Overall, fantastic trip.
First 12 ziplines that were exciting and fun. ln our 70s my wife and I were stressed tested to get to the top of all the lines but the guides were friendly and helpful and it was worth the climb. Even the teenage with us loved it. We felt safe and secure at all times and it was a great deal of fun. Next off to Monkeyland. The monkeys were active and fun loving. . They seemed infectiously happy and well cared for. This is a day well spent.
